Not only the best history teacher I ever had, he was an advocate of social justice. I attended Cardozo from 1968 to 1971, and along with other students was involved and committed to integrating African American history and Black awareness in the school curriculum. Mr. Drew was a great supporter in our movement. I would love to thank him for his encouragement.
My experience as a student of Peter Drew (who taught an excellent cinematography class at Cardozo High School) was great. He is terrific.
The man changed a lot of lives, he was a Great teacher and a Great person. he could take the weight of the world off your shoulders. My big regret is that I cut his class when he told his famous octopus story, and my punishment was that he would never tell me. People said it was amazing and I will never now . Everybody loved him!
I never had Peter Drew as a teacher when I attended Cardozo in the 70's, but he was a good friend to me. An amazing guy
As a student in the late 70's I found Peter Drew to be the best combination of MASH's Hawkeye and Kurt Vonnegut- intelligent, approachable, insightful, and funny. Our education system could use more like him, but he's one-of-a-kind.
What a great guy! Ran the film class and was justa really good, down to earth guy who could relate to students.
Peter Drew was a history teacher in the 70's and 80's. He also ran the now long-gone cinematography class. He was always the comedian and made the class fun.
