This teacher is unprofessional, unprepared to teach, and does not teach you nor is helpful. If you want to learn and do well in math, DON'T TAKE THIS TEACHER and if you get him, get out of his class.
Never learned anything in that class! He just gave us homework and expected us to do it without teaching us. He will give us tests on things we haven't really learned. NEVER GET THIS TEACHER!
horrible teaching style with no regard for the well-being and success of his students
he does not explain well enough and spends a lot of the class time just joking around with the sarcastic kids he assigns work from the textbook before he actually teaches us the work and then when we don't understand the next day he gets impatient and doesn't explain enough before he goes to the next lesson(which he usually only starts about 5 minutes before class ends)when i tried to talk to him after class for help he brushed me off & was 0% helpful and 100% impatient switch out if you get him
I really like his teaching philosophy and his overall teaching style, however, I dislike how he doesn't explain things clearly most of the time. His class is easy if you're good at math, and you can tell how much he's frustrated by students who don't grasp concepts that they should have gotten ages ago. If anything, the students make the class go slower than I'm comfortable with, but that's largely due to his inability to explain things (English being his third language).
Doesn't teach, picks obvious favorites, is racist, and admits that he has his wife grade his tests. Rumors have it that he makes up tests on his way to school and if he grades it himself, he is drunk.
He does not like student-athletes. I recommend this teacher be transferred to another district.
This has been a tough year. I am now paying a tutor in the hopes my child will pass. Math has been my child's best subject until now. He is a nice man, but I don't recommend him.
Chamaa is a great guy. All you have to do to pass his class is do your work. If you listen to his lecture then you will be fine. Do the homework for yourself not for the grade. It actually helps. Pro-tip if you don't understand something ask him. Stay behind or go in at lunch, it's not hard. Plus the philosophy club is really fun.
I'm an Honors/AP kid and I usually hate when people blame the teacher for a bad grade, but this guy is horrible. He simply just does not teach, and is not helpful at all if you ask him to explain anything. He blames the students for not understanding the material, even if 75% of the class is failing. He is hard to work with and doesn't hesitate to insult students if they are having trouble. If you get him, either get a tutor right away or try to switch out.
This teacher rarely uses the textbook, making it difficult for tutors or parents, let only students, to figure out what he is teaching. He admits to making up his tests on his morning ride to school. Parents, avoid this teacher at all costs.
Mr. Chamaa was a terrible teacher in my experience. I thought I was bad at math because of him but in reality, I have done well passing geometry and algebra 2. Switch out of his class please. He is the worst teacher I have had at VHS.
After the first test Chamaa rearranged the seating, students that had gotten a poor grade were moved to the back of the classroom like he thought we were a waste of his time. He always put the fault on the individual if they had a problem. He came to our group during a work assignment and referred to me a a pothead because I was having trouble in the class. He ruined my self esteem that year. I failed all 4 Q's of his class,I ended up taking the summer school class and got A's for both semesters
Pierre Chamma was a terrible teacher. He didn't care if half of his class failed. The only people who did well in his class were the ones who should have been in honors
Stay away from this teacher if you can. Mr. Chamaa doesn't care if half his class fails. Actually it seems like that's what he prefers because it makes him feel like he's catering to the smart kids. And he will always blame his students for his own lack of communication skills.
Who cares if his class is tough... he is actually really nice.
mr chamaa? too hard of a grader, it would be cooler if he rode a camel to school.
Chamma shouldn't teach algebra 1b, he's too hard of a teacher. I can tell he doesn't like us. Chamma should teach Honors or AP classes.
Always willing to help and clairfy. Loves an intelligent conversation, and has great pride in his students.
