fish is a special teacher and you need to be a special kind of student to understand/work with her. she teaches because she genuinely enjoys the art of it, and is very understanding. as long as you talk to her & keep in contact with her, she makes special schedules/due dates just for you and your circumstances. she encourages maturity as some topics of discussion include racism and politics-if you're not thinking critically this may some off as condescending/uncomfortable. amazing teacher.
very confusing teacher, hardest of the three ap english 4 teachers at bellaire. if you get her, you may as well just switch to dual credit or regular if you can't get your counselor to switch teachers for you.
sleepless nights for students because of her dumb assignments that have no relation to preparing for the AP exam.
She says she doesn't believe in tests, and she believes students get a better understanding of concepts through "open-ended discussions" and subjective assignments like that, then she grades you on how much you talk in the discussion. She is a nice woman and all, but she needs to lay off the harsh grading, as she is the harshest essay grader in Bellaire. She does not try to make your senior year a little easier, but rather piles on homework assignments and essays. Switch to Quaite/Bagley ASAP.
PLEASE SWITCH OUT ASAP WORDS CANT DESCRIBE HOW MUCH YOU WILL SUFFER IN THIS CLASS, YOU WILL EXPERIENCE MUCH SUFFERING IF YOU MAKE THE MISTAKE OF STAYING IN THIS CLASS SO PLEASE DONT DOOM YOURSELF TO DAILY HOMEWORK, BS PARTICIPATION AND SUBJECTIVE GRADES. EVERY ESSAY IS FILLED WITH DREAD AND YOULL MOST LIKELY NOT GET EXEMPT IF YOU TAKE THIS CLASS. I HAVE GONE MAD WITH THE AMOUNT OF WRITING, SLEEP DEPRIVATION AND BOOK READING THIS CLASS FORCES YOU TO DO.
WORST TEACHER EVER GIVES INSANE AMOUNTS OF WORK THEN SHE TRIES TO APPEAL TO US BY REMINDING US SHE DIDN'T GIVE US HOMEWORK ON THIS DAY OR THAT DAY. IF YOU GET YOUR SENIOR YEAR SCHEDULE AND YOU GET HER AS A TEACHER, HAUL YOUR BEHIND DOWN TO THE COUNSELORS OFFICE AND SWITCH TO QUAITE OR BAGLEY, BECAUSE ITS LIKE SHE DOESN'T WANT HER STUDENTS TO HAVE AN EASIER SENIOR YEAR.
Takes wayyy to long to ask for help, seems very absent-minded about whats going on, forgets too many things.
If you want a more chill but equally hard class get Bagley or try to switch to quaite asap
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS IF YOU'RE LAZY
If you want an easier senior year, don't take this class. Take dual credit instead. You won't like this class one bit.
Passive aggressive, makes you feel bad about your writing abilities, makes a native English speaker feel like a foreigner, wouldn't recommend
Somewhat condescending towards students and is passive aggressive at times. Her class is amazingly boring and can make an avid stimulant user fall asleep. Her essay grading is the harshest of any English teacher at Bellaire, and this gives her students a dwindling sense of confidence in their writing as the year progresses. However, she is a very nice teacher and is very understanding towards her students.
she doesn't promote creativity, she is quite condescending and rude in class discussions and talks way too much. her class is a suffocating environment. she does give us candy though--bribery.
amazing english teacher...you actually learn and I think she prepares you really well for college. She actually cares about you too.
Mrs. Fish is...interesting and a lot of people hate her but I think she is a great teacher..if you like discussions this is the kind of class for you, there are no tests
Her class is unique, but I like how it runs. Overall she is a good
horrible teacher so far, does not help very much.. and is VERY condescending to students. we don't need that kind of stuff our senior year, nor in an AP class.
i hate to give teacher bad ratings, but the essays and all the seminars are just too hard to ace them
she needs to learn to run an AP class..she cussed! the hw/project assignments r VERY unclear and totally random...grading is unfair and discussions are nonsense
She's the best English teacher I've ever had. I learned so much in her class!
