one of the best teachers i have every had. doesn't use harkness as much in order to make room for writing time, but it's worth it.
God bless Becky. (Ok I'm a little biased because I'm on the crew team, but...) Super clear about what she wants, gives you the means to succeed, and it's only a matter of using it. She'll call you a dingbat but know that she cares a lot about your wellbeing and she's a great teacher, coach, and friend. I love BMo with every ounce of my being <3
Very "Old Fashioned" in terms of grading. I found it extremely difficult to succeed in her class. Although homework load was manageable, some of the activities in class as well as for hw were...unique, to say the least. I didn't enjoy her class, particularly not in the area of narrative writing. Will grade harshly and take off points if not "exactly" the way she likes narratives to be written.
Awful teacher. Not helpful at all. Has two faces when it comes to grading.
Mrs. Moore is an exceptional teacher, facilitator of discussion, and friend -- she is unlike any other prep teacher I've had at PEA or elsewhere, and I can't thank her enough for teaching me how to write.
Mrs. Moorse was one of the least helpful and least encouraging writing instructors I ever had at PEA. She did not teach the elements of good writing, nor did she edit drafts beyond obvious grammatical errors. Positive feedback was generally limited to uninformative check marks. And she had an obvious bias towards students and topics that interested her (e.g. rowers and rowing). Don't expect to learn what makes good writing good, and don't expect your writing to improve.
A bit strict but by far the best English teacher I have ever had. I really learned to write and "harkness" in her class. Definitely a fair grader and if you come to her for help she will work with you. Don't be afraid to ask for help!
Mrs. Moore teaches writing in a narrow, unimaginative way. Her check lists, and her reverence for them, skew her grades towards minutiae.
as a senior ms. moore is my favorite english teacher of all time. class is always interesting but has such a chill atmosphere, her grading is really fair, shes super helpful and nice. (ps you dont have to do crew to like her)
I love her! She is always willing to help you so go and talk to her if you are having problems in her class. The discussions are so much fun and insightful.
really strict about every assignment, which can be good or bad. really hard but you'll get a lot out of it. conceited, but she is a good teacher.
mrs. moore is a tough teacher, but she is the nicet lady if you take the time to get to know her. She cares about you and your success. Amazing person.
She has the great ability to bring out insight in class discussion, and she can critique writing like no other. Difficult material, but her class is worth it.
really need to be able to communicate with her. Just tell her exactly what you think and she will respond!! open communication is imp. for her class.
Easy, but you can't improve on your first grade, nor can you go down. I received the same grade on every paper I ever wrote for her. Dominates the discussion.
She is tough, and very picky about what she wants. But if you work with her, it will be rewarding! Show that you care! Go talk to her, it will pay off.
Phenomenal. I will take the lower grade in her class in order to learn as much as I have about juxtaposition in writing and appreciation of literature.
only liked rowers and decided day #1 what your grade would be for the semester - very bossy and leads discussion too much - also a little conceited
Loved her! Tough love teaching. Cracks the whip on dress code. Be opinionated/pushy. Try talking to her; very willing to help, if you're not afraid.
Only identifies with butch crew girls. Made me read joy luck club - worst book I've ever read. Tries to direct the discussion way too often. Very BORING.
she's a cool coach, but she definitely went to radcliffe and believes that the world revolves around her. the pearls, vera bradley and headbands say it all
