Easily the best teacher I've ever had. He gives a ton of work but if you put the effort in it's an easy class. He made English more exciting than any other teacher I've ever had, and he's incredibly knowledgable about everything he teaches and most of the things he doesn't. Bink is an SHP legend and I'll most likely never encounter anyone who makes me more excited to learn than he.
He is the single best teacher I ever had. No one else even comes close. I wasn't having the best go of things at SHP and I was considering leaving in my sophomore year, but I stayed, in no small part, because of his AP English class and the Cinema class that I had wanted to take since stepping foot in the door of the school. Zero regrets. Thanks, Bink.
I was his student in 1988. I took his Cinema class. I loved every second of it. Richard Binkowski is hands down the best teacher at Seton Hall Prep. Extremely intelligent, respectful of his students and helps his students strive to be better. Michael Mielko, Richard Morris, William Safranek and the beyond horrible Donald Roden (Thankfully long gone from SHP but should have been fired long ago.) could learn a lot from Richard Binkowski as to what a teacher should be.
Mr. Binkowski is the epitome of what it means to be a teacher. It seems like he knows everything about literature and cinema, and he approaches every class with he purpose of making his students better writers, readers, and people. He is one of of if not THE best teacher I have ver had, and you should consider yourself very lucky if you have him. Ah, Binkastophilis!
Bink was the best teacher I ever had. If you have the opportunity to take a class with him, you should absolutely take advantage. It will absolutely be difficult, but the feeling of accomplishment and improvement you feel at the end is unparalleled.
He was the best teacher I ever had. My collage professors paled in comparison to him. His classes were harder and more rewarding than anything I encountered post high school. He taught me to truly appreciate literature and cinema, and I have carried his lessons into my professional life. This guy should have a statue on campus as the greatest teacher in history. THE BINK RULES!!!!!
"This should not be UNfamiliar to you, gentlemen," as Bink is the greatest teacher I ever had in my life—high school, college, and grad school. He's the reason I'm a teacher—he challenged me to think more critically, engage more deeply, and reason more sharply. The least I could do to pay him back is to pay it forward. The Prep community will never find a suitable replacement for him when he retires. Take his class—he will change your life as much as he changed mine and others before me. HZF.
Throughout my academic career, I have had many challenging teachers. None more so than Mr. Richard "The Bink" Binkowski. He is, by far, the finest teacher I have had the pleasure of having in all my years of education. He not only challenged his students to learn, but also to think. As a professional screenwriter, I paid homage to this once-in-a-lifetime teacher by naming one of my main characters "The Bink" (portrayed by Tom Arnold), in my film "Pride." It was the least I could do for him.
I had Mr. Binkowski in his first year when St. Benedict's had closed. I've had a ton of teachers since and I know that I've never had a better one. His class on the Bible as literature and comparison to the Sumerian Epic of Gilgamesh is to this day still one of my most enjoyable semesters.
You are all lazy idle loafers. Still remember that from 1982. Scared the he'll out of me but made me a better student. Inowe my love of literature and writing to him. One of my best teachers ever
I had Bink way back, when I attended the Prep between 1981 and 1985. He could be intense, like when he would be writing on the board discussing some text and then spin around and fire a question directly at you. Little did I realize, some of Bink would rub off on me as a teacher.

Bink is a very smart man but can come off as harsh. Don't let his obscure literary allusions or his random outrages scare you. He is very intelligent and gives you a ton of hw but it will prepare you for AP English and the SAT.
Bink is a smart guy and pushes you, but he is not very lenient. In the past, people have said he is very lenient and helpful, but he definitely is not anymore. He does play favorites so get on his good side and he hates athletes for some reason.
A ton of work every night, but I learned more from this man than from anyone else in my life.
Bink is honestly the best teacher at Seton Hall Prep. He knows everything about English and makes sure that the students understand. Be prepared for hours of homework but know that it all prepares you for college. His Latin/Greek base vocabulary study really helps for SAT. He also helps out if you are absent and need to catch up on all the work that is missed. Again if you ever get the chance to take Bink's class go for it!
Being one of his students 1988-1990 was one of the greatest experiences of my academic life. I can say without reservation that Mr. Binkowski's classes were at minimum on a par in difficulty with my
Mr. Binkowski is the best teacher I have ever had. He may seem a little weird at first, such as when he speaks in Old English or makes obscure literary references, but this man knows so much, and whil
Greatest teacher I ever had. Scared me to death the first day and drove us all to embrace literature
I had bink for cinema class, and i personally thought he was the best teacher i ever had at the prep. there was a lotta hw most nights, but bink is the man. extremely tough teacher, but he is always o
As a teacher, he's the cream of the crop, and really is available whenever you need him, and is willing to help you with almost anything. But he is not a teacher you can sit and have an interesting co
Mr. Binkowski is one of the toughest teachers I've ever had -- both in terms of workload and the way he pushes you in class -- but the payoff in the end is worth it.
Scared me. Challenged me. Taught me. In all my years, my greatest teacher. SHP 1981.
I am a graduate of the class of 1979. To this day, and after a Bachelor's and a law degree, Mr Binkowski is still the best teacher I have ever had. The effort is well worth the reward.
You actually walk into this class WANTING to pay attention. Very Difficult, but worth it in every way, best teacher I've ever had by a long shot.
He is truly unlike any other teacher i have ever had
He has an aura about him that makes him seem extraordinarily imposing or difficult. However, he's very clear, very intelligent, and very willing to relate to a student on a personal level.
He is the best teacher I've ever had. He is brilliant and actually attempts to relate to the students.
I currently have Bink in my Sophomore Year, and he is very difficult, I'll give you that much, but overall, he's a pretty nice guy, and at times, quite comical.
graduated the Prep 4 years ago and still I gotta say one of the best teachers I ever had. Knowledgable, tough, fair, and a good guy...Bink is an essential SHP experience
Why is it that AP students have lowered standards in his class. Shouldn't the standards be higher? An A in his class is like an 80.
one of the smartest guys in school. great teacher, prepares you well for AP Exam and college.
Bink! Possibly the most erudite and scholarly men ive ever known. the best cinema teacher
had him for cinema, very knowledgeable and a great scholar, and has a sense of humor
Bink is AMAZING! Incredibly intelligent. Makes me feel so great to be a student in his class. I love going to English every day! Bravo, Mr. Binkowski!
One of the best teachers I have ever had, a true gentleman and scholar
B-I-N-K Bink Bink Bink!!! Best English Teacher EVER!
He is the best teacher the school has. I have learned the most from this teacher.
