Topper is the type of teacher that you would think would be nice to have at the beginning of the year. He is extremely knowledgeable, but he is equally as repetitive. He has nice thoughts, but for an english teacher you would think that he would know how to execute them in a better manner. I've had the class two years in a row and know the same amount that I did when I took it the start of my junior year. He does help you to improve your writing skills though :)

If you didn't like Topper, you weren't invested enough to understand the class. He's a visionary teacher that anyone would be lucky to have.

Topper has been realy lenient with the work, but also has an amazing class. Don't try to take it unless you're ready to speak often and loudly, because he values a strong opinion- even if it's different from his own! You just have to be brave enough to voice it, stick by it, and be able to support it.

i agree with what someone said below--definitely one of the most unique teachers ive ever had. i'll never forget him--he was real interesting--like i could see him with his own drama show or something-he always seemed to be having some type of inner struggle. very smart. downside: i literally had him for every year of HS English
