It has been 26 years since I sat in Mr Hens social studies class. His can-do attitude and exceptional ability to relate concepts in an effective and entertaining manner captured my attention and "beat some good learnin' into me." He is exactly the sort of teacher I would want for my own children. The long lasting positive impact of my time in his classroom prepared me for the time I spent in the Marine Corps, and still serves me well today. FIDO!
Thank you Mr Hens.
Although I agree Mr. Hens was a good teacher, he had a knack for embarrasing his students beyond acceptable limits. Ridiculing a student in front of the entire class for anything from a below average test performance to a subpar presentation is unacceptable at the Jr. High level. To the rest of the class it may be fun and games, but to that singled out individual it is devastating.
Thats so sad he's retiring. People need to have a sense of humour in his class, if you can't laugh at yourself then you won't like it. I didn't like having to do those outlines from the book, but i like having open note tests. Class was definitely always interesting.
mr. hens is the man, so sad he's retiring. he ran a great class, made the stuff interesting, and made you learn. prepares u well for 'da big house'
Mr Hens brought lessons to life, with his daily work ethics, and fun! made this class a must! top notch! a great buy!
Very hard, but makes it sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much fun. He's the best teacher I've ever had.
he is such a good teacher. all the people who survive in high school are the people who had him. he's so cool!!!
only thing wrong i thought is that he used the same jokes all year, otherwise a great teacher
