Wonderful teacher - my most influential teacher from BPHS, and I graduated in 2001. Great teacher, great person. Very intelligent, very inspirational. I had him for Humanities (12th) and history 9
The kind of teacher who gets to know you as a person. A true role model.
Tietz was the best teacher I ever had. I still remember the Crisis, Gettysburg Address, and many others. Thank you to Mr. Tietz for being a great teacher and inspiration.
Tietz was the best teacher I had at BPHS. The students who wanted to learn grew SO much, and the others didn't. If you didn't/can't learn from him, then you're not meant for higher education.
I loved Tietz. He made history interesting. A great teacher one of the reasons I became a teacher. I still remember the Summer Soldier and the Gettysburg Address. Tietz ROCK!!!!!!!
He wasted more class time than anyone I had. I understand he is subbing now...actually that is just more of the same thing he did before.
Teaches valuable skills, encourages and inspires high quality work, makes history interesting and makes everyone feel good about themselves. I miss him.
He knows how to control a class, he can have fun but set limits. The guy is very smart and knows whats going on.
I could not imagine this man inspiring me to cross the street.
One of the worst I had in high school while he was still teaching.
Mr. Tietz truly loved his job as a History teacher, and he's one of the reasons I was inspired to become a teacher myself!
He is such a great teacher and kids don't listen anymore (because he's "only a sub"). That is really sad because if you do, you might learn something valuable.
Every time I go back, I avoid seeing him. He taught like a sub (very little) and preached to much. I guess he is doing what he was trained for now...subbing!
every time I go back to visit, I always hope he is subbing that day. He was the best teacher I ever had in high school and I really miss him.
I can't believe people treat him as just a sub. He used to be a teacher, geniuses! And an awesome one, too.
FRIEND TIETZ!!! Mr. Tietz was the best teacher ever! He has a passion for history that no one can top! It's a shame he retired because students are missing out
Cannot believe he is still there. Was bad when i was there.
He was the best teacher ever. The best preperation for AP American and for life. I still remember everything we learned and he also was always there to talk.
had him as an american history sub... hes a pretty cool guy i guess...yeah id say so
he substituted for my english and history this year. This guy is awesome.
"These are the times that try men's souls, the summer soldier and the sunshine patriot..." - Best teacher I've ever had. His retirement hurt us all.
His retirement is the biggest blow to our school of all time. His teaching was superb in every sense. I wish I worked harder when I had him in 9th grade.
Tietz was amazing freshman year. He found fun and entertaining ways to relate the material to us. Tietz you should have never retired.
I had Tietz three years ago as a freshman. He always found an interesting way to relate the information, and there wasn't a single day I was bored in his class
I love this man. I still carry "The Crisis" in my wallet.
Best teacher/role model ever! Taught me so much about life & learning. Great sense of humor, excellent teaching methods. Prepares you for college and LIFE.
Mr. Tietz is my favorite teacher in the world. I learned more from him than any other teacher. I was seriously really upset when he retired
