Switch out of her class or else your gonna take an L on the exam
Ms. Ravilious seems to be genuinely interested in world history and new developments in the field. Unfortunately, she is incompetent at teaching, vindictive, and hyper-focused on topics that don't actually appear on the AP Exam (e.g art).
disorganized and foolish, not very intelligent, honestly wouldn't reccomend her if you get her next year switch into mogge or moose, their the better teachers.
She is a very naive teacher. In a 45 minute class, 20 minutes is spent on complaining about behaviour and a lesson never gets started. She does not focus on world history, only art (maybe 1 AP question). She insists that she knows the subjects and is very stubborn, especially if you correct her, which is necessary for about 40% of what she says. Unless you know world history, getting 4+ is hard. Avoid her at all costs, take AP world the next year if you have to, or possibly switch to honours.
Ms. Ravilious is an absolutely terrible teacher. Avoid her at all costs. She tries to be nice, but treats everyone as absolute children and gives us no respect. It is very easy to get a good grade in her class, but she has no idea what she is teaching practically teaching out of the book. She hates discussion, and won't accept when she is wrong. She is rude, and very stubborn. Apparently Eurasia is a continent. If you want to do well on the AP exam, either self study or switch out of her class.
She is that old lady across the street who is sweet and nice. Not a AP teacher. Giving students grade for things they never turned in. SMH
she bout the dumbest teacher i ever had lls too funny
She is a very kind and sweet woman, but her teaching style is more suitable for a college environment than to a high school one.
One day, our entire 8th pd skipped her class, and she didn't even reprimand us the next day. She also makes us clean up after all of the pep rallies. Oh yeah, she still hasn't graded/returned two of my tests and an essay. Oh yeah, she makes you do this random art project, forcing you to visit an art museum, and ends up not even grading the assignment anyway. If you get her as a teacher and you don't self-study AP world, expect a 3-4.
SGA is clearly more important to her: a week before the ap, and she makes the class out clean up after the pep rally! she makes up grades so easy A if she likes you, but you're on your own for the ap
sigh....try your best not to have this teacher. If you do, don't expect to get any good scores on sat II or the ap exam for world history. Expect to do a lot of self-studying, which can be a pain.
She is a lovely woman, but I think she's better suited as a college professor than having to deal with impatient high-schoolers that don't appreciate her love for the subject.
Easy teacher, easy class, barely any work at all. However, SHE DOES NOT TEACH!!! If you get her, you might as well ditch taking the AP, because you will have learned nothing.
She's not a good teacher, but a great person. She was really passionate about the subject. I liked this class.
everyone is so mean to her but i think she's adorable. and she's really sweet.
its really not cool how she gives us teeny assignments 2 weeks before we turn them in, then never hands them back. nice person, but maybe its time to retire.
incompetent.Period. Lots of kids get 5s on the AP b/c they study themselves or know all the history before.Ravilious does nothing and deserves no credit for the high AP scores
She hardly covers her lesson plans, and she returns assignments even less often. Class discussions are often off-topic or poorly tied to concepts. She's nice, but not very helpful.
She simply does not know how to teach. Her classroom control definitely needs improvement and she blames all problems on the students. never grades anything
worked so hard to make me understand- thought she was great
she tried very hard to be helpful but I think the generation gap between her and her students is too large She never stops lecturing on what bad students we are
Cannot teach at all. Lectures us about things that don't matter. Needs better organization. Mind reading is essential to succeed in her class. Good intentions.
don't dish on her too hard... she came from JDS, where ppl don't really think and ask her questions.. she'll get over it eventually... she's a really nice lady
she has good intentions btu man can she not teach! she went to teaching school and after 20 years & learned that you shouldn't be sarcastic with kids. "RUDE"
She's not stupid, she's extremely, extremely foolish. She can't think straight and can't figure out what's wrong with her teaching and her class. Hopeless.
SHE NEEDS TO STOP COMPLAINING ABOUT US BEING "RUDE" AND STUFF LIKE THAT. i think she should just get over it and learn to teach
She spends her whole time lecturing us on what bad students we are. She doesn't understand students, especially Blair students. An idealist.
If I have to spend one more class learning about Egypt...
nice person but very very boring. she has good intentions in teaching, but they just aren't implemented successfully.
This teacher was the primary reason I didn't take the AP exam. It's not that she's dumb or anything, but this lady just does NOT know how to teach.
Really nice woman, but her class is by far the most boring, I am not sure if it is her or the material though...
can this women teach?? i like her and all, but i'm not learning anything! does she know how to teach???
doesnt grade anything, so much rides on few assignments. the end of the year project is the most pointless ever. is nice and tries, but just cant teach.
She ruined what should have been my favorite class. A really bad teacher.
A very nice person who actually cares. However, her teaching style was lacking. Very forgetful. Expected too great things from students.
She is a very nice woman but is also the stupidest woman ever who doesnt know anything about teaching.
Lectures can be kinda hard to understand and tests a little weird, but a hardworking person who cares that students learn history and always tries to be helpful
