She's kinda funny when she yells but I just don't understand why she's always mad.
love ms. chhabra. as long as you're not a dude, and/or don't publicly announce ur laziness to ms chhabra within the first quarter, chhabra will make your life easy. ofc don't ask stupid questions. but if you've talked w a couple of people and confirmed a mistake, feel free to raise your hand to ask a question. hard teacher, hard tests, but i've learned quite a bit, and have thanked the Lord everyday that I don't have jones instead, and she hasn't singled me out :)
worst teacher ever
I had her my sophomore year and it was crazy. I was hoping to get a good teacher because I always loved atoms and electrons. But after one year of chhabra, I hated the chem, and even more i hated the school.
She is very annoying when she says "don't hesitate to ask questions!" but proceeds to roast you for asking questions. When I say roast, I mean roast as in you might be crying at the end of it (if you even survive). However, she is very knowledgeable about chemistry and she is pretty nice in her 8th period tutoring sessions, just evil in class. A-/B+ is pretty manageable (tests are hard, but she gives lots of free completion points)
She WILL scream at you consistently throughout the year, but once you realize it's not meant badly she's okay. Not the best teacher, but I have actually learned Chem. If you get her you'll have an unpleasant year, but you'll learn. Try to get on her good side and you should be okay
sometimes negative, never positive. i don't like to write bad reviews
Yes she might yell a lot but thats just her. she really cares for her kids to get the point and when she yells she really never means it in a bad way. Overall a great teacher. I loved having her
It is crucial that you get on her good side - do your homework consistently. It's a little challenging to get an A but she gives a lot of free points so it's not hard to manage an A-. She's often mean but is also almost always fair with grading.
Chhabs is so loud. She can be heard from a mile away lol. The thing that I hate is that she yells at you if you answer a question incorrectly, but still expects everyone to participate and gets mad if you don't. However, her tests are pretty easy in my opinion if you read the textbook and take notes during class (except she doesn't want people to take notes...but just do it anyway it's hard to remember stuff if you don't). Also, she's pretty mean to some people so try to be on her good side.
IS THAT CLEAR???? HAPPY FINGERS!! Do not be afraid to ask questions! WHAT U DO NOT KNOW DIS?? U LUMP OF LARD. DO U KNOW WHY U DO NOT KNOW? Becuz u dont pay attention. U dont care about chemistry. U just want points
Literally the worst teacher I've ever had. She yells at kids when they don't get something and calls them stupid and dumb when she hasn't even taught the material properly in the first place. When people are too scared to ask a question she says, "so I'm assuming you understand it completely because if you don't, just ask me and I can explain it to you because it's better to ask early" which is kind of weird because she yells at you if you do. Her explanations are super unclear too. So bad
She's a hilarious and awesome teacher, but don't get bummed if you get bad grades on a few tests or assignments. Make sure you get on her good side EARLY because if you don't, it's just going to be worse. Good luck!
Mrs.Chhabra is an excellent teacher. She really prepares you for what college courses are like. People need to stop complaining, we aren't in elementary school anymore. She was always willing to help me and I loved her class.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHH.........Chhabs. ....is that clear???? clear to everybody?? Fun stuff. No idea why she's still here but it's hilarious.
Not easy by any means. Will yell at you for almost anything. Bad personality during class. Not to bad outside of class. Tests are hard. Go to Kauffman tutoring.
Here's a legit view, easiest chem class, tests are a sinch. She might not be well liked, but she is fair. Easy A, but do well on lab reports
If you pay attention in class, don't make stupid remarks during class, and stay on top of what you are learning, you'll be perfectly fine. Read the book, and you'll be fine for the tests. Stay on her good side and you won't get made fun of for the rest of the year. Chabbs and I got along really well last year, and we still do.
This has been my least favorite class at TJ and I really believe that it is because of the teacher. I did not like at all how she yells so much.
I didn't retain much from what I learned, but that might be my problem. Pay attention in class, don't goof around, and she'll like you. She sounds like she's yelling all the time, but that's just her natural tone. She's really nice if you see her outside of class. Class was average difficulty.
i dont know anything about chemistry a year after taking that class... hated it
Not the easiest, but stay on her good side and you'll do fine
The Chhabra Paradox goes as such: Chhabra asks the class a question about something noone understands because she didn't explain it well. Someone tries to guess the answer, inevitably gets it wrong, and she yells at them for their stupidity. The next time she asks a question, noone wants to answer and get yelled at, so she yells at the whole class for not answering. Get used to reading the book.
If you study, you'll be just fine. She sounds intimidating, but as long as you don't mess around in class you won't have a problem.
as a person, i loved her. as a teacher, not so much. she gives off a negative vibe with the tone of voice she uses, but don't take it personally. she knows chem but yells at you for not knowing it.
although she is nice to some kids she picks on certain other kids (she gets mad and annoyed too easily) who all have sumn in common which im not gonna say
Funniest teacher ever. She's mean to the kids who are dumb and dont work. If you work shes awesome. I went to an advanced college class, and I understood everything because of her. Teaches 2 quickly
I was expecting horrible things from reading about her but I have her this year and she's a pretty good teacher. She explains things well, is fair, and class is fun at times. Nice person.
My friend was right when he told me that Chhabra's a lousy teacher. I got her this year & so far I haven't learned anything from her. Thank God I have the book, maybe I learn more by reading the book.
I liked her, just don't get intimidated, it's not personal. If you don't read the textbook you're screwed. The tests make you think.
She was mean, unhelpful, and confusing when I took her. I wish I'd taught myself out of the book more.
I love her I think she's the best teacher out there. I want her to know that I learned the most chemistry with her than any other teacher that I had.
She is the reason why I hate chemistry and am not taking AP Chem, I think that's really really sad :( After you've had her, though, she's nice to you
If you're planning on taking AP chem, switch out, you're not going to be prepared. If you want a semi easy grade, and are used to 'yelling' (I have an asian mom, so I'm very used to it), you should stay. And no, she's not actually angry, don't worry if those faces scare you and stuff. Nice person, likable.
she's funny =) but i definitely didn't learn chem very well. i got an a every quarter but i just crammed before the tests. she didn't actually teach me anything, which was unfortunate, because the course textbook is SO dumb.
Always read the book before tests, and take notes during lectures (information will come up on the test later). Use labs and worksheets for free points, which protects your grades from the ocassional test bomb. Don't get intimidated by her ocassional pokes at you during class. Try and understand the confusing topics by asking your friends... she seemed to get mad whenever I asked for clarification. Not an easy-A, but I'd say you learn a decent amount of Chem.
What the heck is she doing teaching at TJ? There is no order in her lectures. She goes through a chapter so fast & then gives us worksheets (busy work) to do on our own. I learned more Chem in her class just by reading the book. Her lectures and worksheets are so useless. She spends more time in front of the computer than teaching us (and she can't even teach us). Thanks to her, I do not have any confidence taking AP Chem this year.
even though this class was IMPOSSIBLE and I died on everytest, I really liked her, shes areal person and actually fun and sweet if you get to know her :)
Disregard completely the negative things people have said! I LOVED having Mrs. Chhabra last year. She is one of the funniest teachers I've ever had, her "insults" and "yelling" are completely playful, her classroom is a fun environment. It's true that some ofthe tests are hard, but I got an A all four quarters. If you want to enjoy your year in chem, she's certainly better than Jones or Maturo.
the teaching itself sucked, but the class was one of my favorites. as long as you're on her good side. try to be perfect the first month or so and you'll never have a problem. also don't take her insults seriously, if you laugh at them or even talk back she'll like you even more.
the big problem lies in what you naturally get and what you expect to learn! She does not prepare for AP chem very well at all. I personally think someone needs to look at the big picture
In the first semester, I did not like her because I thought she was mean. But in the second semester, she was nice and helpful. The tests are sometimes tough.
ew i hated this class more than anything- shes a horrible teacher, and it was amazingly boring, and no matter what everyone fails the tests... SWITCH OUT!!!
she's really bad at explaining concepts and helping you make connections
VERY confusing. tests had nothing to do with what we had been taught. very cool/funny, but i definitely had no idea what was going on
at first i hated her. then i started to love her. that woman has so much personality and shes actually really cool. in the end, shes a sweetie about grades =]
She really isn't mean, and her "screaming" is usually just misinterpretation of her loud voice. If you have confidence and show it, you won't have a problem.
total waste of time. screams constantly and teaches little.
Didn't really get much from leacture, just read the book. Funny lady, but don't become the one she picks on.
She's tough to get used to, but she really knows what she's talking about and can be very helpful if you talk to her. Don't take the jokes personally.
she actually is a very nice person if you talk to her, she just has an intimidating personality. dont take anything she says personally.
She knows what she's teaching, but her tests aren't great. Definitely picks favorites and shows outright favoritism...
Good teacher, but might take a few times to understand the yelling
If you can stand being yelled at, you'll be fine. I think she teaches very well.
a good teacher, a good person, funny + helpful; had her twice before i really appreciated her
omg-what a horrid woman.very abusive, tons of screaming.my highest grade on the tests was dfntly an 80.read the unimprtnt prts of the ch. and dnt do APchem
so far i've learned nothing....except not to take her insults personally
useless useless useless.Scream city--that all she does is scream. put in your earphones and tune her out if you can
Somehow, she manages to both bore you to tears and leave you in the dust at the same time. Gets angry for no reason.
worthless and obnoxious. yelling is funny for about a week. i learned nothing except that she's a bad teacher.
Had her way back in 95-96 and hated her. She definitely failed me, but i deserved it. probably would've gotten more out of the class if i'd opened the book.
Bored out of my mind, and I cant understand what shes saying, oh well, at least I can get an easy A or B+
her class is a horrible one to wake up to in the morning, but u actually learn from her
Mrs. Chhabra is absolutely hilarious. Make sure you read the book, and don't get offended when she makes fun of you. She actually likes you.
she's made kids cry with her yelling. i liked chem before i had this class. in spite of that, she's somehow funny. some people do appreciate her.
If you have a thick skin, this is a wonderful class. Just make sure you have a comeback for, "DID YOU EAT YOUR BRAINS FOR BREAKFAST?"
enjoyable class, but you have to teach yourself chemistry
she's hilarious, esp when she makes fun of ppl, but I didn't learn much chem
keeps class lively - let us make smores on the burners
very abrasive; yells alot to us; i'm surprised they let her teach.
She's abusive but hilarious. It's definitely worth the yelling and screaming.
as long as you don't have sensitive ears or want to learn any chem u'll be ok
She hands out A's like there's no tomorrow. I got an A & don't know chem!
I retained nothing in chem. Quarters: 3 A's, 1 B+. Exam: D+! Final: A (somehow)
its all fun and games until you get your test scores back. shes funny though.
What ever you do DON'T ask a question! Keep a low profile, and you'll survive
Mrs. Chhabra is so great! The ones who diss her are the ones she makes fun of!
Poort teacher. Very amusing if you can take the heat -- She can be abusive.
funny as hel, called me a baboon, dont' take it personally when she mocks you
didnt like this class at all;maybe i'm"emotionally weak"but i didnt learn either
Hillarious beyond belief, I wish she made sense more, but its worth it
Mrs. Chhabra is awesome! If you don't like her, you're just emotionally WEAK.
I adore her. So will you, if you can stand being mocked all the time.
