Ferg was the best teacher I have ever had. Yes it is true his reading quizzes are hard and rely on memorizing useless details, and that he is a hard grader. However, his class is extremely interesting and his willingness and dedication to helping students struggling out weigh the negatives. Not only did Ferg make me a better writer, but he also taught me how to analyze articles and how to think intellectually. He is a great person and is very funny and honestly you will learn so much from him!
LOVE THIS MAN. dat boi slays in #everyaspect. 1000000000/10 teacher dang he makes me love grammar.
Ferg is a wonderful person and a great teacher. He assigns hard work, but is always willing to meet with you one-on-one to discuss ideas. He really helps you become a better writer and his class was always fun, dynamic, and engaging. I wish more of my college professor were like him!
I had Ferg a few years ago for 2 years in a row. Looking back on high school, his class sticks out the most in my mind. Yes, he is a tough grader, and you will probably fail more reading checks than you would like, but the skills you gain from that class are second to none. He teaches at a very high school, which is extremely helpful when you get to college.
He's the best teacher I've ever had in my life and is the reason I am where I am today. He'll teach you how to write, which opens up doors anywhere you want.
Ferg is one of my favorite hall staff members. He's the type of guy I'd like to go on a cocaine-fueled bender with, or hang out with.
What Ferg is not is an easy english teacher. His quizzes impossible, tests difficult, and essay topics surprisingly reasonable. But there is a catch: Ferg is one of those people that shares the thinking that essays should not receive A's. When it comes time for him to pick up the red pen, he becomes an Schutzstaffel general.
He is full of himself and makes jokes that are funny at first, but after the 20th time they get old and annoying. His reading quizzes ask for details that most kids don't get even if they do take notes. I don't like him, and do not understand why so many people do.
He is the best english teacher I have ever had. HIs class is really hard, but you can do well if you spend time on your reading and ask for help on essays. He is one of the funniest people I have ever met. I hope I have him next year for AP.
Feg is great. You probably won't get an A, but he's great about conferencing one-on-one about essays, theses, and other projects. Reading quizzes are very difficult.
During class all Ferg does is joke around and then he assigns hard essays
Good teacher, but panders to his class and downloads his liberal ideology on his students nonstop.
Reading quizzes are impossible.
Had him for sophomore honors english and AP Writing and Composition. You have to work, and you might not always get the best grade, but you will learn more than you could ever hope to get out of his class.
Ugh, is all I have to say. This man's arrogance and laziness is a disgrace. Completely unhelpful if you're out sick or gone for a few days, and grades at a strictness disproportionate to the amount of time he actually spends teaching and not making irrelevant jokes. But hey, if that's what it takes to win teacher of the year, then go for it at the expense of your students.
Probably my favorite teacher at Hall. Smart, funny, engaging, knowledgeable. Overall, he's everything I could ask for in an English teacher.
He's great, most of the time. Funny, smart, strict grading, but sometimes he's just dead wrong about an analysis of something, and won't listen. Still my second or third favorite teacher though.
THE BEST TEACHER AT HALL. work hard and you'll do well and continue to do well throughout college :)
Very solid teacher. In accordance with his own grading policy (which is to never give As), I'd rate him a B teacher.
One of the funniest and nicest teachers i have had but also one of the hardest.
ferg rocks, but watch out for grammar and pop quizzes on the stuff you read the night before
i absolutely love this man. hes hilarious and such a great teacher and guy
ayo, watch out for this thing he does with his mouth when someone's talking in class - it's like his bottom lip swallows his top lip. Ferg's awesome - so is Florinda. YAY GRAMMAR!
I love the class... he's SO funny, buthe has this way of looking at you... it's very nervewracking... i swear he's trying to see through you.
I don't know what to think of him. I have him for AP- He's hilarious but a bit odd. I was warned that it's impossible to do well in his class...
loved his class...but very hard...really like him too...
Ferg is awsome, but you have to be prepared to work. he's histarical
I'm torn here. He is a by far the funniest teacher I've had, but he makes a better guy to talk to than to be a teacher. Pop Quizzes left and right, Slow Grader.
he definitely picked favorites and kept them throughout the year
Takes extremely long to pass back papers, and is unecessarily difficult. Plus, he tries to belittle students who disagree with him. Horrible personality
hes mad funny and cool, but his class was so hard hes the reason i didnt take ap
Just started teaching Honors English and is doing a great job at it. He does not stop with the jokes and is hilarious.
