Having Mr. Zimmermann as my Spanish teacher sometimes felt like I wasn't learning any spanish. However, I enjoyed his class for the experience! He is very knowledgeable and provides "teaching moments" to us on how he survived living in El Salvador during wartime & gives us some assignments on biology (such as trash/recycling/"el plástico"). He is very lenient on homework assignments & wants us to "shine" (participate). He's very easygoing, funny, & adorable! He gives good life advice.

Mr. Zimmermann is probably one of the most knowledgeable Spanish teachers on campus as he teaches both AP Spanish Literature and AP Spanish Language. That being said, his teaching style is very variant and at times he'll talk off topic for the whole period and other times he'll assign silent book work for the whole period. He expects 100% Spanish in his class and has rather difficult tests throughout the year, but the final and benchmarks are much much easier. Overall nice guy but weird class.

Mr. Zimmerman is a very weird man. He talks mostly in Spanish. He rarely talks in English. One time I turned in an assignment late one day because I forgot it at my house. He said he drops it to 50% because I didn't have it. He needs to understand that students make mistakes. He should at least drop it down a grade. Also he yells ALOT and has favorites. He's very energetic and moody at times. He assigns assignments like we are experts on Spanish. Honestly my textbook is better than Mr. Zimmerma

Too confusing. Expects all his students to understand every single word that comes out of his mouth. Isn't clear enough with instructions. Just throws assignments at students like it's nothing and doesn't seem like he is really fit to be a teacher.

I had him as my teacher last year for AP Spanish and he is literally one of the best teachers I have ever had!!! He cares about his students and he'll bring up "teaching moments" about life in general and even though they got annoying it helped in a way. He barely gives tests it's more short essays and in class work. We have few group projects that require presentation and count a lot toward your grade and its not hard if you don't procrastinate but if you have him YOU ARE BLESSEDDDD!!

I had him for AP Spanish Language last year. He's really nice and he realllyyy cares about his students succeeding. While it's true he spends most of the year in his teaching moments, the month before the AP test we do a lot of prep thus the exam was very easy (I got a 5). He's never had a student not pass the AP Lang exam, do with that what you will. Great AP Spanish Lang teacher!

Mr. Zimmermann is a great person, but sometimes his lessons are confusing. He has teaching moments, where he teaches you about the world and life, and honestly, he is so funny. Sometimes, the work load makes you sad, but he's still a great teacher. He's so nice and a sweet heart, and you'll love him.

He absolutely cannot teach. He spends most of his time lecturing you about your life rather than teach you spanish. He expects everyone in the class to already be a spanish speaker when most of the kids can barely understand the language.
He only likes students who participate a lot and get As in the class. If you're a quiet student, he will dislike you. Literally, if he likes you, you can get away with nearly anything, but if he hates you, good luck even asking to use the restroom.

He's an amazing dude, anytime I have an issue I don't feel intimidated going up to him to talk. Having said that he's a worthless teacher and I don't know how he hasn't been fired HE DOESN'T TEACH. All he does is talk about life lessons (which are meaningless by the way) and he uses two-thirds of the period to give said life lesson. This wouldn't be so bad if he used vocab words to give the "life lesson" but he doesn't. Also he gives his "life lesson" in English, bad English at that.

He doesn't really teach. He uses most of his time for "teaching moments" and then whatever classwork we SHOULD have done, becomes homework. He barely collects anything. He says stuff that sound super offensive (although we don't think he means it). He's not the best teacher out there but his class if pretty easy as long as you do your work. He does care about his students and is pretty nice though.

I can honestly say, in my first 6 weeks of being there he only had ONE moment where he taught us. He has his "teaching" moments about subjects he really shouldn't ever give his absurd opinions on (single moms, drugs, ethnicities, religion). Ap lang Is really simple to keep a good grade if you do your work, but as a person and teacher he's not the best. It's true he prefers Hispanics (esp. salvis) I can only hope somebody doesn't tell him off too bad one day, good luck w/ Zimmermann.

All you do in the class is activities from the book and dialogues. so if you don't mind giving two presentations per weak then this is the class for you. Make sure to keep your activities organized because he will collect them all at the end of the semester. Also make sure to do all the extra credit you could or after school or at lunch, Besides that all he does is talk to you about something completely random for about 30 - 40 minutes every day.

Mr Z is the most caring teacher out there, it really breaks his heart when his students arent doing well. Im his TA and I see how sad he gets, he always tries helping and he stays after school every day except Fridays to tutor students, I had him for AP Lit so we did A LOT of work but it was all worth it when we came to the AP Exam

If you have ap language it will be the easiest A of your life. But i don't recommend ap spanish lit. He doesn't teach well enough for you to understand. He will just make you do a bunch of essays and packets. Prefers Hispanics. He's really nice though, likes to talk and waste a lot of time.
