A very good man. Impressed me in the first 15 minutes I met him. I had him for Honors Americans History, his class is tough, but it's not like impossible to get B. Very difficult for me, because English is my second language, and he is just talking, but then after I record and go home listen and add more notes, it's much better. He taught me how to write a good essay, the end of the year I did really good on the state test also I was rready for AP World class.
His class is extremely difficult, but if you work hard, it does pay off. the man knows what he is talking about and he has some great stories.
Mr. Serr is very knowledgeable! He can tell you stories from his life since before Vietnam. However... he rules his classroom with a strict dictatorship feel, and if you need help with anything you are mostly on your own. However, he yells while you take notes. This isn't bad however... You tend to retain 75% of the info he goes over. His finals are supposed to be VERY hard since it's for students who don't pass the OGT the first time. But if you're a freshman it's a take home exam.
Love'm or hate'm--sometimes both. He rules the classroom with an iron fist, and is both scary and awesome. I think of T-rexes when I think of him. You have to work hard to do well, but it's worth it.
He is very knowledgable in U.S. Global 3/4. His stories and stern, loud voice stays in my head making memorization of events quite simple.
mr serr has alot to offer. i learned sooooo much in his class. yeah he can be a little un easy but overall a veryyyy helpful teacher!
Really has no great concept of history. Chooses favs. If you get all test q's rite he'll buy dinner always puts a q on a topic he never covered
Mr. Serr was OK. His lectures were not very boring and he had good tips on note-taking. He enjoys putting down students a little too much.
current isssues is an awesome class and you can't rate him fairly until you've taken it
Serr is a good teacher, adn knows what he's teaching...he gives awesome lectures. But he favors females over males, enjoys downgrading and embarassing students
If you enjoy talking about his soccer club or the vast amount of money he makes, then feel free to take his class. If you want to learn history, look elsewhere.
anyone with a mild interest in history should like his lectures; paying attention to them and taking good notes pays off.
Mr. Serr was pompous and had mastered only a superficial understanding of history or historical methodology. To compensate for his lack of knowledge and professionalism, he tried to make students feel inferior and worthless.
