Absolutely amazing teacher, even though he teaches at a relatively fast rate, there was a lot of review days before tests, so it wasn't much of a problem.
Mr. Amara is also very funny, in a relative way. His great sense of humor about the topics and great stories about them really helped me understand the course.

Okay here are the facts if you are really smart in science and try you will do fine. That's final. However, if it takes you more effort or your not as enthusiastic about the whole chemistry thing then then the problems roll in. He will "teach" you the units in class with the use of a demo. Now they are cool and all but most have a hard time understanding anything about it and correlating it to the tests and notes.Hence, he isn't really that clear. Another problem is that he can be moody . .

honors chem is really difficult, but he does teach well and i like him a lot. he does a lot of fun demos and makes chem more fun than torturous.

You guys dont even no what ur talking about. If ur taking Honors then he has to move fast for the SAT II. He's an amazing teacher and all of his labs are safe and the radiation is negligable

Very, very funny and easy to talk to. He seems to know everything about chem and "culture", and can teach it in a way that really makes you remember it! Hardly any hw, but the tests are very very very hard.

he's hysterical and manages to teach while being entertaining. i learned a lot from him because i actually had fun in his class. a genuine nice guy who will help any student who needs it. one of the best.
