Incredibly knowledgeable! He does assign a lot of reading (40-100 pages primary sources per night, 1-2 page summary each night) BUT if you can pull the workload, his classes are amazing. plus he's a really cool guy

One of the most interesting classes I've taken in high school or college and such an inviting classroom setting.

Mazie takes the seminar format of his classes seriously and leads a great discussion. He has high standards and works closely with you if you ask him for help with papers. His classes definitely aren't for slackers.

I took one of his classes, and it was the worst class I have taken at an already lackluster school. In better news, his blog is highly readable.

I think Steve's blogs are timely and provocative. He connects the events of today with the political philosophers of earlier eras. I only wish that our students might do this for themselves as well, but with his help, perhaps this might , one day, come to pass.

Dr Mazie demands a lot but he's low key and his poli sci elective is one of the best I've taken at Bard. great sense of humor too.

I didn't like his class. He likes to keep his classes very free-form, but I think that he should eventually adopt a slightly more teaching-oriented style.

He is actually a pretty fair individual. It is just too bad that most of his students are immature children, and he does not seem to notice it.

His Ninth grade Americas class was my favorite class of the year. I learned so much and history became my favorite subject! Sweetest teacher, and very easygoing. The work may be a lot, but it's always

Dr. Mazie is an excellent teacher, although not for Seminar. Although he is a tough grader(he grades with numbers)he makes up for that since he is so sweet!
