I had Sue Barthold for Sociology in 1969, her first year at Kentwood (the East didn't exist until the next year). If you got a good grade, you worked for it. If you didn't, you didn't. The thing I remember about her most, and that I have used every day since, is that she required you to be able to support your position with solid thinking and facts. She never once told me what to think. She taught me how to think. Thanks Sue.
i had her as a techer 2 years ago. at the time, i didnt like her. now im quite glad i had her as a teacher, she prepared me for college in a way very few teachers at EK do.
Having graduated 5 years ago and forgotten - or repressed - much of high school, I'm surprised by how much of this class I remember. B is funny and whip-smart; she taught me how to take good notes.
I loved Ms. Barthold! Her stuffed animals made class even more fun! I learned a lot that I never would have if I were not in her class. I miss B! If you cared...she cared.
One of the most amazing teachers ever. I took her classes 25 years ago at EKHS and still remember her well. An amazing woman that impacted my life in measurable ways. Thanks Ms. B.!!
I had her years ago (grad. '87) If students understood her they'd know that she cares. She pushes students to be ready for college...most aren't! She also teaches them to THINK.
B knows how to teach. She doesnt take any crap. The only students she cares about are the ones who care about her class. She knows how to teach and it'll be a shame when shes gone.
u all need to lay of B. she is awesome if u r quiet most of the time in her class. u all need to stop being rude to teachers who r rude to u cuz u cant close ur mouths. u ppl r evl
Old school could-care club! I miss you B! I learned a lot from Ms. Barthold and I think it is great she is teaching at EK
Ms. Barthold seems to not really like kids. Her strictness is fine with me, but she just seems plain out mean.
i think that she sets standards and sticks to them. therefoe she is setting a good example. also, she is kind when you dont force her to be strict.
i thought Ms. B was awesome, she has her head in the right place. She only cares about the students that care, why should she waste her time with anyone else?
i only had her for 3 years of seminar...however, i am in college now going into teaching, and i think her motives towards teaching are not where they should be.
she was harsh and unkind to her students...unless she liked them...didn't care about helping...only her reputation
