Believe me, your GPA will not be yuuuuge with Ms. Jacobsen. Your grades will be losing bigly. However, believe me, you will be prepared bigly for the Regents. Your Regents grade will be yuuuuuge, which is good if you care about that more than your overall grade for the year. Also she's a nice person, even if her grading's strict.
Great teacher, however her exams are pretty difficult in geometry. She knows what she is talking about and if u pay attention in class and go to extra help and not act foolishly in her classroom, you will succeed. Just work hard, its what you need to do for everything in life.
since I am Asian, she literally ruined my entire life, both at home, and in the future. She turned one of my favorite subjects into my least favorite.
The only way to succeed in her class is if you actually do the work yourself. She teaches you that because that's how it works in the upper grades and in life as well. Mrs. J. gives you everything you need to succeed in her class and the rest is your job. She teaches you a bunch of helpful shortcuts and tricks that no one else knows but her. Overall, she's a lively and bubbly person- has the funniest sense of humor. She does seem insane at first, but she's a great person to be around.
i really don't like her in class. i was never very good at math but i was not terrible. However, in her class i am doing terribly. She has favorites and if you don't get good grades she does not give you the time of day. She moves on very quickly so if you have questions you HAVE to ask and you should probably go to extra help. She's not a bad person, in fact she's actually very fun to be around, but as a teacher, not so great. good luck.
Ms. Jacobsen was probably the hardest math teacher I've had. I kinda had some difficulty in class, which doesn't usually happen to me because math is my strong subject. HOWEVER, I wasn't nervous at all for the regents, she taught me what I need to know to get an A+, she stresses a lot about checking, which is annoying but it helped me a lot to make sure my answers were right in the regents. Definitely have no regrets having her, she was a pretty nice if you paid attention and put in the work.
Being too stringent of a grader, rather than a clearer instructor, is her rather misguided attempt at ensuring your success on the regents; her students do overall outperform others, but in the end I relied more on self-study than her teaching for both the geometry and trig regents. Also tells mediocre jokes, if that's your thing.
She is crazy, tells many stories and gets off topic all of the time. A lot of kids are doing bad in her class but she trys. okay teacher but really really hard
Ms. Jacobsen is Honestly the most influential teacher I have ever had And she explains everything so well. Geometry is extremely difficult but ms. J makes it fun and exciting and she is EXTREMELY helpful if you're not afraid to ask for it.
Jacobsen's the greatest math teacher I've ever had, b/c she's actually very challenging. Not only that, she goes more in depth and shows tricks that other teachers won't. I hear students in the halls rattling off stupid formulas when all the Jacobsen kids have a simple sentence. If you can keep up with her fast paced teaching and if you review the concepts you don't understand, you will do fine in her class. Going to extra help and asking her for extra practice will help too. Regents'll be easy!
Best teacher in the world!! Great teaching style and helps prepare for the regents. Quizzes help prepare your for the upcoming tests!
Could've been less absent and given out fewer quizzes, and notes were pretty much useless. I learned that her extra help really did HELP, so go :)
VERY HARD.....Im used to getting A's in math. with her C s and B's
Very intelligent teacher, yet very challenging to learn from her. She is funny at times, and she is also fast paced. Because her tests are so hard, the regents is a piece of cake.
omg, HARDEST. TEACHER. EVER. she gives impossible tests and if you don't listen for 5sec you FAIL. n im not dumb Lol i had all A's for math b4, n now she's lk impossible. but she's rly nice and shud b respected. argh.... sooo...... HARDDDDDDDDD.
Ms. Jacobsen is definitely tough, but she's a very lenient grader. She tries really hard to make sure everyone does their best. She prepared me extremely well for the Geometry Regents. I did much better on the Regents than in class.
She is a very interesting person. I will admit she IS a hard teacher however, she realizes this and gives you the benefit of doubt when she does averages, and final grades. Also, she prepares you for the regents very well.
hahaaha HEY BUBEE, shes a very intelligent woman. respect
BEST TEACHER IN JERICHO. i would try so hard not to laugh whenever she broke the chalk from writing on the board too fast. i would love to have her again. BUBBEEEEEEEE
haha can we say psycho? but she was a pretty good teacher-if you kept up. just do your work and study. dont daydream in her class-you'll miss tons. if you can't keep up - i suggest you switch classes
wasn't exactly the best student but she never really tried to help and she is really hard to understand.
