His inability to follow through and re-teach what is continually being missed by multiple students is one of the reasons he is not an effective teacher. It may be a student's responsibility to ask questions, but this leads me to the second reason he is not a good teacher. If students ask questions, his answers generally are not answers rather they are comments made to embarrass or make his students feel inadequate. His grading is harsh without looking at the whole... he is very critical of mla
I don't understand what everyone's complaints are. Seeing these comments scared me going into his class, but he is a really nice person, very knowledgable, and knows how to run a classroom. He is lenient on late work, gives out 70%, and has many surreal and entertaining anecdotes. I feel as though I'm one of his favorites, but regardless he's a great teacher. Don't listen to the hate. Just don't do anything stupid to MAKE him dislike you, be a student, that's it.
Hurrainko is one of the best teachers I have ever had he is Fun nice and can always find some way to teach you something he has certainly helped me over the year. One thing you notice about him is that he has had A LOT of weird jobs. If you have the chance to take his class of freshman LA/Com 1 then say take it, it will be one of your most memorable classes ever.
Mr. Hurrianko is one of the worst teachers I have ever met. First, if anyone cares to ask a genuine question, he will treat them as if they are inadequate and, frankly, stupid. Next, he holds his students to a higher level than he holds himself. We wrote an essay for an essential skill grade and he didn't have time to grade it, so he gave all the students an A. Finally, he quashes any dissent. Any class discussion or any questions will be dominated by him alone and he will be unclear/confusing.
Mr. Hurrianko chose a career path which is seemingly oxymoronic to his personality, an educator's job is to answer questions, but this seems to be his least favorite activity. He almost unexceptionally will be ostentatiously exasperated by any and all questions and provides snarky, condescending, and quite frankly shallow, pedantic, pandering responses. The fact that this man is a teacher is a travesty of the educational field.
People What is wrong with you? This guy was one of my best English teachers I've ever had. He really had helped my essays. Sure he might have been a bit rough on the grades but hey it really makes you work hard.
When will this class be over?! Enough already! Some assignments are instructive, but he beats it into the ground until it's really no fun. Mercy is not in his vocab.
Okay, number one, if you want an easy class, don't take this one, thats why its called advanced, its hard. Mr. Hurrianko is a good teacher, knows more than enough about english, very good at thinking and reasoning, but can sometimes expect students to know something they don't, and I think that's what people mean by arrogant. Just don't mess up on MLA and you will probably be fine.
Hello fellow students. I believe you are all familiar with a Mr. Tim Hurrianko. It is obvious he lusts for Ms. Padilla, despises the administration at Rocklin High School (Ms. Knox), and enjoys video taping his students. He is very condescending and often unreasonable in class. Outside of class though, he his slightly more manageable, but there is little difference in his arrogant nature. In summary, Hurrianko is a sketchy man, and if you are having doubts about his class maybe take regular LA.
Mr. Hurrianko is very strict and assigns many homework as well as projects, but overall, he cares for his students and actually teaches something to his students. He is very knowledgeable in his profession and even more intuitive in deductive reasoning.
Plays favorites, feels the need to wield his authority, smug. A teacher that makes me hate going to class!
Mr. Hurrianko is a good guy and a good teacher. He likes to tell stories about himslef though and he can be really condescending towards the students. There isn't as much homework as everyone says the
I think Mr. Hurrianko was the worst teacher I've ever had. I'm so glad that the year is over tomorrow and I will never have to be in his class. He is not helpful or clear about anything.
He is very hard I have turned everything in but i am still failing. It's basically impossible to pass this class. Plus he thinks hes a cop, that went down the drain after he ...........
Self absorbed. Takes it personal when questions are asked. Not consistent in grading and not approachable for help.
Personally me and Mr. Hurrianko never got along but I have to admit his class taught me how to work hard in school. I improved as a writer and even in college I find myself using references from the i
He is not a very good teacher. Makes you feel stupid if you ask questions. He is nice sometimes, Just a little strange.
Not fun to have as a teacher, but a great guy out of class--he sticks to his moral compass and will always be there for a former student.
Mr. Hurrianko is by far the best English teacher that I have ever encountered. They style of teaching that he uses has no flaws. Those who do not like him are the ones who are lazy and incompetent.
His class is pretty tough when you dont do your work but when you try to do good in his class, you pass with an "A". AR is most important part you HAVE to do because it can really boost your grade! :]
His class is tough and strict. Although knowledgable and striving for perfection, I don't see any egotism in him. Most hate his tough class, but the class is THE most helpful english class on campus.
He has a sense of humor, and he is usually clear about what he wants to do. some assignments were kind of annoying though. Once i was late to class, and he didn't give me a detention, but I'm guessing he rarely does it.
Mr. Hurrianko was an awesome teacher, and i can say that being outta high school now, his is the only english class i remeber learning anything in, and it has come in handy for my college classes
he is a great teacher. the soph honors class is kinda hard, but ok if you remember all his rules about headings. a great guy, he has taught me a lot. i appreciate him. stop whining, hes only strict so you can go to college!
Mr. hurrianko is my favorite LA teacher....its a pretty easy class and id say hes VERY helpful!
err! he hates me for no reason, but i hate him back equally.
Mr. Hurrianko is a pretty easy teacher, if you work hard!
