What can I even say about the legend Mr. Rife. We literally did next to nothing second semester (watch "The Century, write logs, practice DBQ's). Somehow I didn't study for the AP Test and got a 5 because of his class. He loves history like its his child. He is very fit for his age, i think he's 90 years old but he acts like he's 30. ABSOLUTE GOD!
His class should be called "Impressions of The Century and other Historic Videos that will not help you for the AP Exam".
Rife is the man! He teaches well and expects a lot from everyone. If you put in a lot of effort reading the book, it's a fairly easy A. I was not that type of person however. He still liked me despite my grades.
From my experiences, Mr. Rife was a fantastic teacher. I think that a major part of learning history is to have inspiration to learn it. With this being said, Mr. Rife did a fantastic job of motivating me to learn history and to enjoy doing so. He did a great job with controversial topics like the assassination of JFK.
"Today we are going to watch the next episode of The Century. Write an impression for your log. (insert name of student) Get the lights" That sums up this class. Also, you can write horrid essays as long as you use big words. And play baseball.
Greatest guy ever. Amazing Teacher. Always helpful and just all around great
You'l mostly need to depend on yourself for your AP preparation. Do the assigned readings each night, otherwise you're stuck the day before the test reading 20 pages of that book...He can be kind of p
Terrible. His idea of an interesting class is popping in movie after movie, and trust me it's veryyy boring. He does not teach at all. Nice guy with some interesting stories, sure, but i despised him
You are on your own for the AP test. He is "Mr. Nice Guy" and is not helpful at all. I felt that his class was an overall waste of time.
Very nice guy,not the best teacher. you'll need to learn how to prepare for the AP test on your own because his class is not intensive enough. Class is easy though, and he's funny sweet.
Mr. Rife is of average intelligence though not very knowledgeable. He seems to think that this is OK, preferring pedagogical appearances to true academic pursuit. He certainly gave up at some point.
Good guy. I loved the class and Rife is a good teacher. The class isnt exactly easy but isnt too hard. To do well you have to actually try but overall no regrets
Oh really the class was hard? big suprise its U.S. History Hns, Rife is an unbelievable teacher, and he taught me more in 1 year than all of my history teachers before him combined, (except Newhalfen)
Had him for U.S. History Honors. His class was super easy, but we just watch movies in class every day, doesn't prepare you for the AP test at all. Be sure to start studying early on your own, or FAIL
Nice guy, good discussions. Hard tests, but not if you've read.
I had Rife for US History H - he's a nice guy but not the best teacher.. Not too hard to get an A (he offers extra credit) but we watch a lot of movies.. Doesn't prepare u well for AP test
He is really nice but watch out for his tests. They are very hard. Dont really learn a lot from his lecturing during class.
Pretty good teacher, kind of challenging "There's an 'H' on your transcript for a reason". He gets distracted by food...
T Rife....great class....learn and not too stressful
best history teacher in the universe. he'll let ya know what the H on your transcript is for and he'll definately help you separate the men from the boys. AWESOME MAN!
Rife-dawg, your DBQ prediction was way off, but you're still the man. Double pumps forever. (Ask him about it, he'll tell ya)
his class was very challenging but I got a lot out of it and he was always very helpful
VERY CLEAR AND EASY TEACHER, BUT HE TAUGHT ALOT. ONE OF THE BEST HISTORY TEACHERS I HAVE HAD
