Mr Deets is definitely one of the sweetest teachers out there. However, He doesn't do a very good job teaching. He teaches what you need to know for that days classwork but that's about it. But don't get me wrong there are some better parts of his class. For one he never gave homework a day in the year. Secondly, he always lets you collaborate with other student so if you don't understand his learning style, you always have time to work in a group. thrid, warm-ups and other things are extra cred
He's very nice and willing to help all his students. Not all the students are interested in learning the math.
Mr. Deets simply doesn't teach. When you ask him for help, all does is ask questions back. He needs to actually help.
Mr.deets is a very nice guy n funny. But teaching might not be his thing when only 5 people in class know how to do the material and everyone is running to those 5 students as teacher figures to help them pass class. And his bathroom policy is stupid.
If I child give him zero stars, I'd give him zero stars. This guy drives me insane, if you get him as a teacher, I HIGHLY recommend finding a tutor aswell.
Deets' class structure is outdated, but it's pretty much your fault if you don't learn the material. His quizzes are generally more difficult than his tests, and the tests are buffered with the extensive extra credit earned over the chapter. The class can be tricky when learning new concepts as the processes are not always adequately described. Optional homework and short lectures to accommodate classwork time means that it is wise to seek help from fellow classmates.
Deets is awesome. I'm in the AP calc class and it's my favorite class. If you have questions in that class all you have to do is go up and ask him and he'll explain it. And he encourages people to come in during tutorial so he can give extra help but no one does (yet people complain about him not teaching). What you learn is up to you. He teaches concepts and it's up to the student to make a conscious effort to understand them (so the homework is optional). And there's TONS of extra credit.
Mr. Deets' class is not set up very well. One does not actually have to know how to do math in order to get a good grade.
Rely on students to teach themselves/each other. He doesn't explain well, his way of teaching sucks, and he talks too much about things that don't matter.
No idea what hes talking about. He doesnt explain it very well, have to learn from other students...
He doesnt really teach at all but you can get past it if you get a tutor.
Realy nice techer. but sometimes goes too fast through the material
Deets is an incredibly easy AP Calc teacher except I don't think he prepares you well for the test because he makes everything too easy. He doesn't explain things in depth, and so you will have to do a lot of outside preparation in order to do well on the
Loved this class, and love Mr. Deets. He's a great guy, and was always available when I needed help.
Awful teacher. Learned absolutely nothing in his class and almost all of his students were failing. The class average for one of our big tests was a 54%
I love him. He is one of my favorite teachers ever. Offers tons of extra credit and no homework. Explains it to you as much as needed.
Such a nice person and really a good teacher even if I did fail his class. That was my fault for not taking advantage of the help he offered.
doesn't teach just 1 example then tells you to do the class work not a very good teacher
Mr. Deets is always there for help, and explains the subject very clearly. I had him for advanced physics and ended the year with over 100%! He was the only teacher I had who always offered extra credit.
Mr. Deets has a sharp sense of humor, I liked him a lot. The material in Intermediate Algebra was fair and not too hard to grasp.
I had Tom for Physics for both regular and AP in 88-89. He's one of my best 5 teachers of all time and that is inclusive of the colleges attended and the dozens of teachers I've dealt with.
He doesn't really teach and just assigns a lot of homework. But its an easy course.
Mr. Deets knows math and physics through and through; however, he's a little scatterbrained, and comically awkward at times. Love the subject, and you'll love your grade.
Thomas is a good mighty good fellow . i really enjoyed your class a bunch. Warm up-Homework Problem-Classwork-"Suggested Homework Problems" that you dont have to do."Comprehensive test" a.k.a final in April is lame, still like you thomas , your the best!!
Old guy a.k.a. mr deets is a really nice guy. Deets your rock. He's so funny and eh teach to good but who cares i got an A and avergaged a 70 in quizes and an A+ in tests! hes very fair to uncle thomas cool guy . yeah! you rule yes you do!
He is the best math teacher! he actually helps you if u need help. tutorial, afterschool. he's alwayz there if u need help. Great teacher!
I like himbecause he was showings us that pills are bad to pop because they can hurt u , thanx for the advice deets!
If you need help, he is always there to help you, and he even taught an extra period a day after school because he enjoys his job so much. Great teacher.
I had Mr. Deets for Adv. Physics three years ago and he is by far the best teacher I have ever had. It was also the best class I have ever had.
He's a very cool teacher, but his grading policy is ridiculous.
i took the honors physics - tough class, but his projects are enjoyable. pretty reasonable guy in terms of grading quizes and tests.
I have Mr. Deets for Honors Physics, and the class is hard. He grades really tough, remember to label EVERYTHING!
Coolest teacher ever.. KNows how to make the material stick. Got cool jokes, talks like a surfer
