Farber was the best math teacher i'd ever had. Super knowledgeable about calc & AP test. I only had 1/2 yr with him b/c new 4-by-4 schedule but he managed to correct all the damage Deem (my AB teacher) did and I got a 5 on the BC test & AB subpart. He offers lots of opportunities for extra help in both understanding math & getting your desired grade. His lessons are easy to understand and include lots of practice that he holds your hand through. He's also super chill & funny (while cheesy).
Too serious for high school. Close minded and tend to make students experience tougher than it should be.
I won't recommend him.
Coach Farb is seriously my favorite teacher I have ever had! Almost cried on the last day of school because I'd never see him again! I had him for HPC, AB, and BC and wish I could do it all over again. If you have a chance to take calc please do!! farber loves his job and loves math so much it's contagious. He made the AP test feel like a joke because of how easy it was and how well he prepared us for it! I can't even imagine learning math from anyone else and miss truly miss him next year!
You need an eye for this kind of thing, unless you're blind
Good teacher, difficult
Love T-Farbs. Had him for AP Calc AB and BC. Great teacher, really entertaining and loves to teach. His class is hard at times, but a 5 on both AP tests makes up for it!
Extremely good teacher, quite efficient at teaching and helping. Unlike most teachers, he takes his job very seriously. Also balances this with relative easiness, and doesnt really care if you dont pay attention if you dont need to. 10/10 best teacher I've had at teaching. He isnt that close with students even tho he seems like a cool guy outside of teaching
You have to be dedicated from the beginning. You can't keep up, it's accumulative.
Tom Farber is probably the best teacher I've ever had in any subject. He is an excellent teacher with a sense of humor and keeps class interesting.
T-Farbs is really a good teacher if you decide to pay attention in class. I don't think he moves too quickly when covering new material, spending about two days on a given topic. Calculus isn't easy a
calc was surprisingly not that hard with this guy; he knows what he's talking about. doesn't really notice if you're not paying attention.just check the photastic and deseo raps for him in a nutshell
great math teacher. sweats too much. makes dumb jokes and awkward silences. it's a whole differnet ball game... ;D
no cohesiveness to lessons and handwriting is the worst. i definitely learn better from a more organized nellos-type approach, but at least he knows his stuff. yeah he makes mistakes, but who doesn't
Great teacher. Can get frustrated often when asked questions that he expected you to understand. Apparently he brought a parrot to class 20 years ago when he was student teaching and it followed him on the chalf board....
In judging students, he is very fair. However, he might be too strict sometimes. Speaking of teaching, he is pretty generous and averaged on ease.
Simple and concise. He has the brains and skills that enable him to teach efficiently. Most folks who don't... ahem... pay attention like to complain about his pace.
Thank you Mr. Farber for being a great person and teacher.
T farb what, what!He is a cool teacher that understands the stuff. He might be hard if you do not pick up math quickly.
He is the best teacher in Rancho Bernardo High School. He does really great job preparing students for the AP Exam. The majority of his students gets 5s on the AP Exam.
Mr.Fraber has always been fair, consistent and helpful tome.
Thank you for dropping my lowest test and quiz score!
Goes too fast, especially on calculator demonstrations
Makes a lot of mistakes in the examples, but still a good teacher.
for calculus, this was a hard class but he is way better than the other [ms. l-s] as far as teaching methods and clearity are concerned. his method of classmates helping classmates in the classroom really helps and it does sort of give students the feeling that they must learn material on their own. this is just a type of independence students will have to become used to in college and in their careers. he really prepares you for the future and what it holds as far as math is concerned.
Mr. Farber was a good example of what you should expect in college. He really prepared us for college and I'm not saying everyone goes to college, but most likely if you are in one of his classes, the chances that you are going to college is pretty high. He was a great teacher and extremely nice and courteous. You all need to re-evaluate what you've written.
Mr. Farber finally got me to understand algebra. He teaches very well but give's too much credit for homework.
he ruined my life for two years. always always making mistakes, and is not thorough with explanations
Goes way too fast and makes endless misteaks. he is always being corrected by students. But he does know his stuff.
i think he's a good teacher...he just teaches a lot and at a fast pace. he will benefit you the most if you work hard and keep up with him.
Not terrible, but one of the least helpful math teachers on campus. If you're a student who needs a hands on teacher, he's really not the guy you want.
He can be moody at times..I hate it when he collects warm ups and grades them..some kids honestly try hard to do them, but just don't get right answers!
Really knows his material and will always help if help is asked for
Mr. Farber seems to not care about his students too much. He only seems to make sense to the kids who would understand it on their own anyway.
I thought he was pretty cool. Although I did get an A in his class.
