Ms. Fields expects us to know everything about a topic and how to do stuff. She never really teaches us. I am so unlucky because this is her last year teaching, so hopefully her replacement is not the same. You will have a good grade if you memorize everything exactly and you will ace those quizzes. And don't be a trouble child, either. She will hate you. But, she really does know a lot about the topics that she teaches.
I Believe that Mrs.Feilds is a tough teacher because she teaches above 9th grade (freshmen) levels and should be an 11th or 12th grade teacher, but i do believe that what she teaches will pay off in college, if only i could understand her!
She's a very difficult teacher and gives word for word tests are absolutely ridiculous. Some of the stuff she teaches us is never going to come in handy in the real world. But she does do a very good job at actually teaching us and helping us to learn. Overall she's a great teacher but very, very difficult.
her tests are word for word only and if you don't you will fail the tests in her class but if you manage to do good on every thing else (a.k.a if you get all As) you will "earn" your self a C allowing you to pass.
She is a very nice lady if you are nice to her in return. One of my classmates had to go to therapy because of her. She made us do a project called "Myth in Media" which took several hours, then she decides that she won't count it.
She'll love you forever, but research shows the 5 x 20ing help long term memory of her the the word for word vocab is so stupid.
Honestly, her class is a lot of work. She really does reward you though. And her study skills help A LOT in the future. I laughed at them, but then realized that they work. She writes wonderful recommendations too. Additionally, the English department talks and she will definitely put in a good word to your future English teachers....
Her class is a challenge, but her annotation lessons earned me extra points on my AP Lang timed writes. She's a wonderful person too!
Needs to be teaching 12th grade only way to hard for brand new 9th trade students. Anyways nice lady...I guess.
She was very strict and her class was difficult however, Mrs. Fields as a peron is phenomenal and one of my favorites.
She's a good teacher and a nice person. Though a tad unrealistic, she prepared me for AP Lit so much better than Brittain prepared me for AP Lang.
Ms. Fields has been through a lot, and teaches ninth graders to GET ORGANIZED, needed in the world. Most people don't pass because they don't want to follow her rules. 5x20, people; it helps.
A really wonderful person. Though she may have been just a bit too demanding, everything we did then made things now a lot easier than they might have been.
I dont personally like her. she's best friends with tha evil chick Ms Britain, that says sumthn. Her tests require WORD 4 WORD answeres. if u have tha general idea, itz not good enuff.
Take this from someone in college who had Fields twice (9th+11th), it may be tough (REALLY TOUGH) but if you stick it out, college be a breeze compared to her class. Never be afraid to ask for help.
Mrs. Fields is tough. Her class was the first english class I didn't receive an A in, but I promise you it's worth it. Mrs. Fields really does prepare you better than the other teachers.
She's so infamous for being tough but at least these kids don't have Brittain! Fields is Brittain's hero.
She fails to teach.I can't remember ONE class discussion in which she openly conversed with her students. Her high-demands are just too intimidating for freshmen. Not a grade 9 cours
Mrs. Fields is one of the nicest teachers I have ever met, she simply puts waaaay too much stress on upcoming high schoolers. (sry mrs. fields, just had to say that).
She's not a bad person, but her class is challenging. People just need to develop orginizational skills and pay better attention. she also offers help to anyone who needs it.
you may hate her now, but you'll be thanking her when college english is way easier than it would have been. Listen to her, you'll learn how to study.
I think the freshmen who failed her class shouldn't blame Mrs. Fields. She is a tough teacher, and you either have to have prior knowledge of how to work hard or you have to be prepared to learn how. I'm glad she's moving on to a higher grade. She's too m
Okay.. Perhaps now that she has moved on to teach Juniors, it's just that when you're a freshie it's too detailed, overwhelming of a class to take.
Mrs. Fields is a great person, and she knows her stuff, she just REALLY needs to modify her teaching style. more realistic assighnments too.
I had Mrs Fields 7 years ago, and still to this day, unbeknownst to her, she has helped me in college. I thought she was a great teacher-challenging, but great.
Omg..Mrs. Fields is the worst teacher ever. She should have been fired already!!!!!
Some people get her but i just don't! She dosen't get up and teach she just assignes stuff... I say if ANY freshman get her to try and get out of her class....
wonderful teacher she teaches good other people just dont understand what in the world she talking about because sometimes she doesnt make sense
Everyone just thinks she's a bad teacher because she requires work a lot of work for a grade. Just shut up and do your work, it's your problem. She's very good.
If your an incoming freshman and you get Fields, I recommend you try to get out of her class...I have a 61% in her class.
She knows alot but just doesn't teach it right. If she held disscussions about topics before we took tests, it would be different.
.. SHe's really sweet .. but alot of people DONT understand her! English was one of my Favorite subjects before i went it her class!!!
I find it interesting that people who whine hide behind the cloak of an anonymous rating.I challenge negative people to come see me.
She is the bane of my existince. May she disappear from our lives permanently.
I had Ms Fields 2 years ago, It was very tough, but I learned a whole lot from her. Although she may seem hard, she is actually a VERY good teacher.
A really great techer, although she maybe hard and give a lot of work, she is rreally smart and a really great teacher. ~Stephen Morris
