Mr. A is a teacher that genuinely cares about students and wants them to succeed. He's been my teacher for 3 years and every year I learn something new. Many will say that he is a bad teacher, but honestly just follow instructions and he won't have a reason to be mad at you. Trust me I've had my fair share of getting yelled at, but you'll never learn as much in any class at keppel than any class Mr. A teaches
I have to say, Mr. A is definitely not the easiest teacher I've ever had. He is always agressive as he teaches his curriculum. He can also be vague in instructions. HOWEVER, Mr. A is the teacher I have ever learned the most, both in music and in life. He teaches his students many life lessons that I probably would not have learned until adulthood. Thank you, Mr. A, for the year I had. I'm grateful that I chose choir over all the other classes.
Mr. A can sometimes be a little unfair, but honestly to those who take the time to know him you'll see how much he genuinely cares about ALL of his students. He enjoys helping in the growth of students and will do what he needs to make us better. That's all. Mr. A is one of the funniest, most caring teachers I've ever had and without him I wouldn't be as strong of a person as I am today. He's one of the most talented people I've ever heard of. Give him a chance.
Mr. A is a good teacher who secretly is a secret agent from one of Russia's best spy's that uncovers himself as music teacher so he could figure out what's in the krabby patty secret formula p.s. he is a good spy
He changed my life. i don't know what i would of done without him. I would of probably did some really horrible things to myself and make really bad choices, if it weren't for Mr.A. I respect him a lot and he means a lot to me.
He gets a terrible reputation for being mean. That is not true. It is the ignorant people who do things that should not be done in a professional piano class that make him how he is. In fact mr a is a nice guy when you follow and listen to his directions.People eat food and drink water in class which really ticks him off. I agree with that because any classroom should not be ruined. However, I do warn you that if you think about taking this class and have NO experience, I wouldn't take it. :)
Mr. Azeltine expects students to pay attention and understand what he says and tells them to do. Students tend to not listen, causing them their own problems. He is a great director to the advanced and beginning choirs; no, he does not go "easier" than his piano class. In piano, beginning students receive books to practice and learn from. Ezpz if students listen. Students learn discipline and useful life skills in his class. His choir students tend to be very successful in their future life!
Wow made so many cry :( but an easy class if you know how to play!
In piano you teach yourself, and get judged in front of everyone. He'll only say instructions once, and if you don't get it that time prepare to receive a cold rejection. His personality is probably better in choir. Meanwhile in piano many students have cried because of the lack of support he gives to them. For example, he'll say things that are so simple, that it needs specific explanations. Sorry, he won't ever give a nice explanation. You're better off guessing with other students.
I like him most of the time, but he has weird mood swings. He'll be really nice and easy-going one day, then the next day he'll get super strict and expect you to know everything. He's cool as a person but is serious about music and wants you to be perfect. You'll probably enjoy choir but be prepared to get extremely aggravated every once in a while. He also contradict himself a lot and ends up confusing you, and when you ask him to clarify, he expects you to have been listening.. Fun though!
While his piano class is rather fun and enjoyable, he is very cold and distant with his students. I tried to get close to him on a friendly level and I was met with the cold shoulder usually :/ Whether it was because we were his first class of the day or not is beyond me, but he has made both male and female students cry before with his harsh critique. Though he IS knowledgable, he usually always pulls out the "Find out on your own and use all of your resources" statement if you ask him for help
He is an awesome teacher. If you know him, he is actually a really nice guy. He could be the nicest guy in the world if u do what he told u to. He is strict but he is a really good teacher. I had so much fun being in his class. I wish all of my teachers are like him. He makes us commit to what we are doing so we will do better and it is for you own future anyway.
Tony Azeltine is a great teacher as he taught me many things and how to sing. He also introduced Diablo 3 and starcraft 2 to me, and I very very enjoyed it. I also play LAN with him during the weekends such as Battlefield 3, COD MW3, and etc... Overall, he is a amazing hardcore gamer and a conductor. If you fail his class, he will ban you in his servers. GLHF GG.
Pretty cool guy outside of class. Still a pretty cool guy in class. Teaches from personal experience and truly wants us to do our best.
He is really cool if you get to know him outside of the classroom I don't get how you guys call him strict ...if you do something wrong then of course he would yell at you. He is actually a really awesome teacher :)
Maybe because I dont put a whole lot of effort, but hes really knowledgeable and just listen to him and your good. Practicing is basically all we do and he yells alot but for good reasons. He can also be funny at times. He is a one of a kind teacher. Hes really strit to but at times he can be helpful; but just try to keep up and your good...
He was a very good teacher who only wanted to deal with the type of students who worked rather than slacked off.
Although Mr. Azeltine can be a strict, he is a really great teacher in my opinion. I had him in freshmen year for beginning choir and it honestly made my year. If I didn't have choir, i probably would not have enjoyed my first year at Mark Keppel as much. I learned so many things. You learn about your voice and how to better it, you also can learn different dance routines if you choose to join Esprit. Mr. A is intimidating sometimes, but he's also a really cool teacher. And choir was AMAZING.
He has mood swings and yells at you, but I've learned a lot in his class.
Mr. Azeltine is a very very strict teacher. The way he teaches isn't exactly the nicest but it is effective. Also, everything he teaches is legit. Don't let the yelling and everything get to you. What
I had him for Freshman year and I thought Piano was going to be very fun. Wrong. The first few weeks of class, all he did was make you learn individually by yourself, and you get called on to go play
Mr A. is an ex-professional in his area of expertise. Which is all i can say that's good about him. Apart from that he is a VERY strict to the point of being a "donkey". The way he works is that he ex
He is a pretty strict teacher. He has many mood swings and when he yells at u be careful because it is pretty scary. and he is quite mean. Despite all those facts he is a really good teacher. He is go
All the things he teaches us are based on knowledge from his personal experience and teaches us how to deal with real life. very helpful.
he was a pretty awesome teacher, i have a lot of respect for him and i always will. He taught me everyhing i knew, and so i will always be grateful towards him. I had him for 2 classes, piano and choi
forget this guy.. he yells at students for no reason.. he should retire for sure.
People may think he has anger issues, but I think it's just that he hates it when you make mistakes. As a student in his concert choir class, I was taught to be PERFECT. He's really strict, but realiz
Got my A in this class but he was very hard and strict.
excellent teacher of course i'm an aztec singer so i'm bias on how he treats his other classes, but he definitely knows what he is doing.....best teacher i ever had at keppel next to wawer and riley
Mr. Azeltine was the first person to tell me I had a talent for piano. I doubt I would've found out if I decided to drop his class.
Mr. Azeltine Is A Superb Teacher. A Lot Of People May Disagree, But They Are Just Not Mature Enough To Appreciate His Teaching Style. He Really Knows What He's Doing, So I Suggest You Just Listen.
He is incredibly intimidating and I hated going to his class at times. Sometimes he contradicts himself, but he only tries to help make his students better (doesn't always work though)
Reason he seems harsh is he hates people who wanna stay unnoticed & finish class. Once you prove to him your passion for music, he'll help more than you can imagine, nice to students who love music.
He is an alright teacher. Bad temper issues. Not the easiest person to go up to and talk to.
A teacher should help his students when they need help. When he goes over something once he does not teach it or review it again. His directions are very vague and are confusing at times.
Definitely the worse teacher I've had in these four years for so many reasons. He thinks he's superior to us and talks to us like we're trash yet expects us to know everything.
I dislike him. He's difficult to talk to and he will cut you off when you try to speak, especially when you are trying to complete your case with him. Can be gullible. Worst teacher I've ever had.
Took his piano class and heard that he's A LOT nicer in choir than in Piano. =]
Cut the man some slack, he's an artist so not everyone will be on his wavelength all the time. I had him as guitar teacher/mentor in the 80's and I think he's great. Work hard and he'll help you.
Yes, he can be unreasonable, true. At the same time, he has high expectations for every person who takes the arts seriously. Note: if you're beginner. he's a better advance teacher.
Mr"A"zeltine is awesome. i love him like a father. he can be very intimidating at times but not to make us feel bad but just so we can grow up and learn to do things the right way on our own.
During the first encounter, he may seem really intimidating and "mean", as some may call it. But he just really cares about the art. I've learned many things in his class, both about singing and life.
If you ever wanted to pursue music and find a better musician inside of you that you never knew was there, I recommend you take Tony Azeltine's class. Believe me, his class will prepare you for life.
He's a cool teacher, good on what he does, very helpful, sometimes mean (in the intimidating way) but he does respect his students as individuals.
He is a very good piano teacher, very intimidating, and expects a lot from his students. He wants students to enjoy piano, but at the same time, gain something that is meaningful
well being an aztec singer i have to say he is a really good teacher. he doesnt have good 1st impressions so yea thats where u think hes mean or w/e but yea ull learn alot in choir
He makes people feel intimidated sometimes and he's kind of hard to understand. The way he does things might not be reasonable for some people but he know what he's doing.
i don't want to say anything about his character, but he is very poorly skilled in playing piano and very mean.
Though he regards music with the utmost respect and discipline, it only shows his passion for the subject. I find him to be one of the school's better teachers.
I love Mr. A. Possibly the best teacher I've had. Have to admit though, not an easy teacher at all. But that's what pushes us, right?
Wants students to think well and make their own decisions for themselves. Likes people who try hard. He'll give you alot if you ask.
dont really like the way he doesnt remembers stuff and then he yells at you, but rather than that and other things hes ok
He's a good singing director but because of his difficulty, it's hard to really listen to him and his rules. Could be a little more understanding and kind.
Went to choir camp wit him, learned nothin dat i didn't learn in voice. He doesn't put da good singers in AS he usually puts one he knows. should be nicer 1new
Mr. Azeltine can sometimes be a very smart and nice guy. Unfortunately, his need to dominate and be smarter than everyone else make him a poor teacher.
I think he needs to TEACH more. That's all i have to say...
He is GREAT!!! Sometimes he is pretty scary... But overall he is a GREAT TEACHER in singing!
he is nice to me but makes my need to make everything in order a pain......BA
i think he's kool, he's strict, i've learned alot from him, but sometimes he's not fair. from baby aztecs to aztec singers.
He's just too strict about stuff sometimes, and he should personally help out the newbies more...
sometimes i just want to kick him... but overall he's done alot for me and the and A.S
awesome teacher. knows his field very well. expects nothing less than your best every time.
