Not the hardest teacher, but definitely makes you work for it in terms of essays. However, she is also one of the most helpful teachers in the department, and will guide you through your essays if you meet her outside of class.
Tough on papers, but very helpful (tests aren't bad). You'll get placed in a 4 group, 5 group, or 6 group pretty early on, but if you show real effort, you can move up. Awesome lady, really cares about students. One of my favorites at Andover
Love her. She does pick favorites, but it's not hard to be one; all you have to do is try. She is also one of the easiest hist-300 teachers, which is the most important aspect for Upper Year
SHES AWESOME! Love her! She was so nice to me and generally seemed to care a lot about all of us. You would be lucky to have her.
Although I don't always love history, I had Ms. Ainsworth for all of 300 and it was probably my favorite class. She is difficult, but you will really learn the material and have great class discussions. The big paper at the end is hard but she really helps you through it. Start it early or you will
She was so nice in class and really cared about helping us. She is very funny and caring and wants to have real relationships with her students
She is a very engaging teacher, intensely enthusiastic, but definitely picks favorites. Get on her good side first term, please...
Ms. Aisworth is really a great teacher, she is enthusiastic and really willing to help. Although she's hard she's fair and wants you to do well
Great teacher, great person. She really helps you with you writing and wants her students to improve.
There's no doubt that she is very engaging and dynamic in class, but it's hard to improve over the term or year. You'll keep getting the same grades no matter how much work you do. DEFINITELY plays favorites, especially to kids who did History 340.
She is an AMAZING teacher to strengthen your writing. She's not a forigiving grader (although she did give me 5's when I deserved 4's), but her intent is to push you to write well. Our class was super close and I loved her teaching style. Very engaging.
Her classes were virtually all lecture, devoid of discussion and full of dogma. I've also never seen a teacher play favorites so unabashedly. Study the material well, her multiple choice are easy, but she always slams you on essays if you don't give out the answer she's looking for..
plays favorites, dogmatic, unfair stance wont let anyone talk about anything but her viewpoint.
She's caring, she's smart, she's a great teacher--I don't know what some of these people are complaining about.
Just get her to like you in the first couple of weeks, and you're set for the year...
I had her as a house counselor and she was really sweet and neverr patrolled or anything. I probably saw her once a week.
I don't like her...precious, condescending, and dogmatic.
She's difficult, but so what? Completely willing to help if you get lost, MY SAVIOR for the 310 paper, great at creating interesting discussions-suddenly I love history!
OH MY GOSH DONT GET ME STARTED. she's sweet and nice, but i honestly DONT UNDERSTAND what she says half the time. don't get me wrong, she has good intentions but still...
come on...be real. she's hard, but she's really good at teaching, she's caring, and she knows her stuff. get a grip and work a little!
picks favorites. if she doesn't like you, you're doomed, sorry.
ms. ainsworth is hard but a good teacher and class discussions are really helpful, jus take notes and you'll do well on tests
one word to describe this house counselor: sweeeeeeeet
Teaches straight from textbook, incredibly unhelpful, predetermines grades and is generally a really mean teacher. Ugh, don't get if you don't have to.
If you make corrections that she stated, she will find more and mark you down for them in the next assignment
This woman will ruin any love for history you may have. She'll sympathize with you about work- and then give you more. Really condescending.
cool outside of class but pretty borin in class lots of times. nice overall tho
eh... she's really nice but a little too second-grade. it's more like, "so let's go over pages 100-115" than "what are your thoughts on the Monroe Doctrine?"
I love how she is willing to go with the student's ideas. She seems very easygoing.
i disliked her method of teahcing, i felt my grade was predetermined, she was not very helpful and clear about improving papers
Ms. Ainsworth is really nice and funny! She's a little tough, but great at the same time
