She's hilarious and one of the only math teachers at Issaquah High School who know how to teach algebra 2 properly. Most definitely straight forward and easy to understand (she yells) also she roasts students so beware

Mrs. Crain is not easy. But you signed up for an AP class, so don't expect that. She is, however, perfectly reasonable in her grading. Her classes average on the AP test is 4.5 Let me say that again FOUR POINT FIVE!! Put in the work and be rewarded!

She always says I'm grumpy or unhappy and I just don't get it. She always tries to split me away from my friends so that I can't enjoy the class. Messed up. It's a hard class and she likes to attack me because I'm white and a boy.

Can not teach properly and goes way too fast. The tests are just too hard to pass as we do not learn how to solve them. Mrs. Crain wants to help but just can not as she does not care to teach in a crystal clear manner. If the tests were easier than what it is now (which is insane) then we would learn more and progress faster. It is important to create a base before you create the roof.

Howe could you hate her? Haha she loves making jokes in class and she probably knows who this is. At first I wasn't too thrilled about the class, but after a month or so she really made calc passable and fun. If you have trouble, go in and get help! She's really clear and knows at least 6 different ways to explain a concept and she won't stop until you get it. Don't take this class if you are looking to cruise by math unless your name is hunter or Danny.

She teaches math like she was running a race. I do not think that she is very clear in her explanations. Also, she is often unavailable after school if one needs to get help from her. However, she is not the worst math teacher I have ever had, and she is a very likeable person.

She is an awesome person but she talks too fast sometimes. She definitely knows her calculus and sometimes forgets that sometimes students don't know everything, but she'll help you if you ask. She doesn't care if you goof off in class but it's your grade on the line.

Her class is defiantly difficult. She goes over everything extremely fast and skips steps that she assumes we know. Her teaching is more like repeating the book. But she does this because she has to cover a lot of material in a short period of time. I like her as a person not as a teacher.

She's nice, but it seems to me like she only cares about the success of her super-talented students who ironically are the ones who need her the least. Hard work and effort isn't enough. You have to be one of the top in math to do well. I wish this class was taught differently so that smart but not genius students had more opportunity to succeed.

Not only did she motivate me in a subject that I absolutely hated, I knew that she wanted me to do well with all her heart. Crain is one of the smartest women I know, and her good heart is what keeps me motivated to do well in life. Ms. Crain, I'm always going to remember you, even if I did only have your class for one semester :)

Wow, she seems to have pissed off some people lately this year. I had her a few years back. After looking back, it is much more clearer why the concepts didn't make sense back then. She is brilliant. This being said, a lot of very necessary things were left unsaid as they were probably "implied" and "expected." While in college I had a guy from NASA as my Calc TA. He explicitly stated every step and that was my "a-hah!" time. Many of her explanations are implicit. None the less I enjoyed her!

She is the best teacher I've ever had. I learned so much from her... She left half way through the year on maternity leave, but hopefully she'll return to IHS. If she returns, and you get her, consider yourself lucky! She may be a bit on the hard side, but it is soooo worth it.

Crain is absolutely hilarious. She definitely knows her stuff in math too. (As of 2006-07) She teaches the AP Calc BC class so you know she grades tough. It's worth it, though. You'll definitely learn a lot about math from being in her class.
