He basically just reads out of the AP Psych book, his ratings haven't been updated in a while but his class is pretty mundane and boring unless you have fun people in the class. He tells a lot of stories of his fraternity days and they're interesting some days, but other days they're just...yeah.
I'm on the fence about Mr. Valencia. I love his use of anecdotes and movies, although I can't help but feel a lack of respect on his end. He tends to poke fun at students in a seemingly subtle manner, and often cracks insensitive jokes about worldly issues and other things of that nature. He also solely uses materials provided by the book publishers, which irks me.
Plays favorites all the way. Always likes the ASB kids over anyone else. If ur social
I had Psychology for the 2010 school year. AMAZING.wonderfull teacher. I have learned a lot from his class you can do work and still have fun. The movies and shows helped us connect to what we learne
i love the way the guy teaches. i feel like i learned more about the stuff we touched on in the films and shows. almost personified everything so i remembered it later for the tests or hw.
he reads your work in front of the class. he doesn't mind if you feel embarassed. but some people think he is awesome. yeah.
Mr. Valencia is hands down the best teacher I've ever had. I once heard that a mediocre teacher simply teaches, and that a great teacher inspires. He strives to inspire us.
His method of teaching is showing us movies, because he himself doesn't know the material. His class was easy, but i didn't learn anything.
He is so funny, love all of the movies we watch. If you don't get an A or B you must not be doing anything in that class. He is super nice and super cool.
He's awesome. I love all the stories he tells us. I learn so many useful things in there that come out of his stories. Psych is so interesting!
He is one of the only teachers who knows how to teach.
He inspired me to be a psych major. I used to sit during tutorial and hear his AP kids complain. They just wanted everything their way. He favors intelligence.
omg. he is so cheap on points. it's like the points he gives us come straight from his paycheck! a final worth only 40 points? the chapter tests are worth more!
He is an evil man that should not be a teacher. His idea of teaching is reading notes created by the publisher of a book. In my opinion the class is a waste.
I agree with his lack of compassion with his students. He also seems resentful to women and favors guy students over girls.
He's a cool guy, your intelectual level must be at the same as his in order to understand him.
He's a cool guy I think he is just really insecure about himself. I just had him for track so all I know him is as a coach. Give him a chance.
a waste of an hour and a half. why don't you try teaching something instead of just telling stupid stories about yourself and listening to all the cheerleaders!
he is a horrible teacher that likes to think he superior. He lacks compassion for his students and should just stick to coaching- not teaching...
If you do all the work you get an A and the work isnt that hard to do either. the "final" at the end of the semester was the easiest test i've ever taken.
Great guy, but i don't think he should be teaching hard classes...he's too nice.
He's fine teaching regular classes, but he doesn't teach AP or IB classes with enough rigor.
