Mr. Henningsen is one of the best teachers I have had at Andover. I am sad to see him retire.
Mr. Henningsen is by far one of the best teachers I've had at Andover. I had him for History 300 and am now taking his senior year elective purely because he's such a great teacher. I never liked history until I was in his class. His class is hard, but fairly so. You'll get the grade you truly deserve based on your work. He's a great guy and is always available to help, plus he's more passionate about his subject than anyone I've ever met! Don't pass up the opportunity to take a class with him.
The best teacher I have ever had. I'm probably going to major in history. His founders class is phenomenal, but so are his survey courses.
MR H IS THE MANNNN. He really taught me how to write - and to be honest, each term was easier than the next. (got 6's on my research papers yesssss! and that is after i got a 3 /4- on my first paper winter term.)
He's so passionate about history - and I love all his personal stories - esp his stuf
This is a teacher who teaches. Thank you, Mr. Henningsen for two great years of history at Andover. You've made me want to pursue it in college. My friends and I wonder why you're teaching at Andover... you could be running the CIA.
had him for 300. absolutely wonderful. one of the most excellent teachers at PA. and i didn't even like history prior to taking his course. if you work your butt off you'll be proud about a 5. in the end, it's not about the grade.
one of the best teachers anyone could ask for. i hated history before i took his course, but his was one of my favorite classes. difficult, but it's possible to do well with him if you take his advice
An amazing teacher. His class is hard, but they are so interesting, even if you're not a history buff. Really helpful- one of the best teachers- ever.
MR. H is the freakin man. off cycle is the way to go. hes such a good teacher. hes hard, but his class is totally worth it. hes so great, im in a facebook group in honor of him. thats love
Mr H. made me want to study history after I completed 100. Great classes and interesting stories. Tough grader but simply makes you earn your grades...good listener.
Mr. Henningsen is a very passionate teacher. It seems like he wanted to have us love history, but also teach us about what's important in life. A legend.
He's challenging, but is also a very good teacher. I was impressed with his ability to keep his own political views out of the classroom, very much appreciated
I heard he's a great teacher, but for heaven's sake don't make him the head of the department. He is so mean and impatient if you want to change your classes.
Very liberal, and mind washing...nice but mindwasher
Hes funny, hes smart, hes usually nice, but the first test i took i got a 3. That didnt inspire me especially since i only lost points on the essay.
Even though he knows what he's talking about, and he wants to help, and you can improve, you won't improve by that much. I'm not a historian, nor will I ever amount to what he is in my PA career, so I think he needs to be a little more easy on his studen
One of the best teachers I've ever had. Makes history as interesting as it could be. Funny, smart, enthusiastic, makes you enthusiastic too. I hope I get Henningsen for 300!
One of the most difficult teachers; yet also one of the most inspiring. He makes history interesting. He is extremely challenging, but it's worth it. He the best history teacher I've ever had.
Henningsen is one of the most intelligent men I have ever met. I have a huge amount of respect for this man even if he has none for me.
Excellent teacher. If you want, not only a schooling, but an education, Mr. Henningsen is the man you want. He kicked off for me what has been the best series of history teachers I have ever had.
He is one of the best history teachers I have ever had, and it makes 7th period class interesting and lively. He makes history come alive, and I am very fortunate to have had him.
He is without doubt the hardest, but best teacher you will ever have. He treats us like historians, and always encourages those who don't do well. Assignments are lengthy & require lots of thought and reflection, but he does his job better than any other.
Challenging, extremely smart, and will teach you a lot.
he's a good teacher, but he likes papers a certain way, and if you don't write them that way you get graded down. actually, whatever you do you get graded down. i don't know if it's the history department or just him...but trying is useless.
great teacher, he will work you hard...seems like he doesn't grade your papers so much as you as a person
Amazing teacher. Will bring history alive. He knows what he's talking about and does so with passion. He treats every student like a historian and produced in me a love for his field.
