Wonderful man, terrible teacher. I cannot learn by doing hours of tedious, mindless copying, problems, and the excessive testing. I just can't. I don't feel like I know any physics, and I don't know how I'm going to pass the regents.
He's not a bad teacher, but he doesn't teach all that much. He legitimately tries to help out his students, but don't expect a whole lot of learning. Low amount of homework, but for the love of god use the review sheets.
Freaking ridiculous. This guy not only gives a test per week but he DOES NOT teach in class. Sure, he's enthusiastic and "wonderful" but honestly, that doesn't matter when my education is so corrupted. I spend so many hours trying to read the textbook and doing all review sheet problems, but its useless when he can't teach a thing in class.
On the negative side, his teaching style is monotonous and textbook-oriented, so if you already dislike physics his class probably won't change your mind. However, he's actually a very nice guy and is willing to help if you talk to him. Reach out!
Willing to help and gives test Qs ahead of time, but class focuses on memorization not understanding. Overhead notes can be vague and monotone. Way too many exams
Honestly, he's pretty underrated. Mr. Lam is very nice and I find his notes to be clear. I learned a surprisingly lot and his tests aren't THAT hard since he gives you review sheets that are basically the entire test. Once you figure out how to use his review sheets to your advantage you should be able to do good.
Wonderful man! He is a bit annoying because he says that almost all the time but he really tries to teach you Physics. His tests are hard but I guess if you spend time studying the review sheets he gives you, you should be fine.
Personally, I feel that Mr. Lam was fine as a teacher. At times he’s a bit slow and irrational when it comes to workload. And to be quite frank, his teaching abilities are not the best as the sheets that he slaps on the overhead get rather monotonous over time. His tutoring helps and shows that he wants his students to succeed. Sadly however people usually disregard the option of going to tutoring and when they do poorly on a test they proceed to bash on Mr. Lam about how he’s an awful teacher.
I LOVE MR. LAM HE'S SO NICE. he tries really hard and although other students don't see it, his assigned work helps. he's always willing to accept late hw which is understanding.
Well, see the thing is Mr. Lam is a bit on the unprofessional side. He tries really hard to help us but it seems like he's a bit pleading at times. Often, he jokingly sucks up to the students and call
A TEST EVERY WEEK!?!?! HELL NO He really doesn't prepare you for his tests well and they aren't a fair reflection of how you're doing in his class
He's really sweet and REALLY wants his students to do well and his notes make sense. Hes a REALLY good teacher
he's a great guy, he really does try to teach his classes. we are his "wonderful students", stop hating on mr lam! he's a sweet guy who tries very hard, and his class is definitely passable.
it's easy to do well in his class and he works hard to make notes for us to copy that MAKE SENSE. he's gullible, but not a bad teacher. don't b mean to him.
He's just strange. He seems nice but he's not very good at teaching. The overhead projections are not as dynamic as writing and his tests aren't very good. He is a pushover though.
I love this man. It's not fair how cruel the world is to him, because he is the greatest man to ever walk this earth and I am sorry for all the hating he receives everyday.
Only teacher to tell someone to buy a mini statue of myslef to look up to for guidance...
Very strange guy. Dresses the same every day, year in year out. Friendly guy, but a pushover. Lots of students take advantage of him. He's quiet maybe one of those hidden geniuses?
not one of the better teachers out there. boring overhead projections simply mimic the textbook. tests are not fair assessments.
