Took Environmental Biology with her, it was terrible. The class was an easy A but it was all 3rd grade knowledge and she can NOT keep control of a class AT ALL. The other students were extremely bothersome and did not respect her authority whatsoever.
Honors Biology with Mrs. Whitman is probably on of the WORST experiences i have had in all of my years of schooling. While she is a smart and extremely intelligent lady, she is just not a good teacher. She expects her students to know the material prior to her teaching it, and I had many instances where, after calling on me, I wouldn't get the answer right and she would make me feel stupid for not knowing it, as if I should have. Overall, she has made it so that I never want to contribute
Probably one of the worst classes I have ever taken. Mrs. Witman knows her stuff, except how to conduct a class. Do not expect any help from her. She will expect you to know everything and condecend you into a coma before she even thinks to offe help. Very awkward and does not connect with students at all.
While she is very well-educated and active in the scientific community, she does not perceive her students as individuals. In other words, she is very impersonal. She will not explain any concept you have trouble with, instead either rephrasing what she has already said or lecturing you to pay attention. I often heard her mumbling to herself about the class agenda using terminology such as "...the students...". It's difficult to explain, but she does not care for her students in the slightest.
Too many notes, too much homework, not much explanation. Bad teacher in my opinion :(
Ms. Witman is nice and has fun ways of making learning the lessons fun. However she also makes it challengeing. Be pepared to use your head.
Mrs. Witman hardly assigns homework, which I think is the best teaching technique.
