He simply does not put the effort into teaching. Most of the time is just working on questions and when he does do a lecture, it's only 10-15 minutes long with couple slides and hardly any information. His tests are hard and some questions are completely different from the ones you do in class. If you are a self-taught, independent working student you will do just fine in the class, but if you are looking for a good teacher who can present his material well, he is not the teacher for you.
Most days in AP physics mechanics is just individual working, and he won't force students to work. When giving lecture, he talks to one table, so pay attention and/or move to the front table(s) if you wish to learn. He rarely checks homework , but when he does, it is for accuracy. Test are difficult, but completely aceable if you study. You will either have self-discipline, learn self-discipline, or do very poorly.
Too many notes, Yuri
Good teacher, but it sort of depends on the class. Worse students will talk through the lecture and make it almost impossible to understand (he talks quietly and only teaches to one table sometimes). In classes with students that don't talk constantly, I imagine he would be great. Also, the tests are pretty hard.
MR.ACHILLE! He is the man! You learn if you want to learn but he will help if you do so.
One of those teachers who's not gonna force you to learn the material. If you wanna learn it and come in for help (or even pay attention in class) you will succeed with him.
I had Mr. Achille for Honors Physics. He very smart and he will help you if you ask, but you have to work for it. He does not force the class to behave so almost everyone talks through the entire class which makes it hard to hear what is going on. He will usually teach to only one set of lab tables so if he isn't at yours, I would recommend going over to the table he is teaching at to figure out what is going on. Also, the tests are really hard, but if you study really hard you'll be fine.
He's a nice guy and he knows what he's talking about, but he makes the tests too difficult and really won't teach the material unless you go out of your way to learn from him after class
Really loved his class and his teaching methods allowed me to have fun and to learn effectively especially through class demonstrations of concepts we were learning.
He really knows his stuff but will not go out of his way to help you, so you better make sure you either know it or seek help.
hes jacked and an above average teacher, but he knows what he is talking about and if you ask him a question he supplies an accurate answer
Mr Achille is great he knows everything and explains it too. He makes physics easy to understand. just plain awesome
Achille is the man. Not only is he jacked, he is funny, and knows a decent amount of physics. If you are good to him, he is reasonable and good to you. I learnt a lot and actually had fun doing it. Doesn't explain too much sometimes, but his side-notes are more interesting anyway.
A really cool teacher, but he can't teach. I always fail the conceptual parts of his tests. It's like we've never learned any of it before. This is the first class in which I regularly fall asleep.
im in college now and was a dean's list student the whole first year. I can tell u that Achille CAN NOT clearly articulate his concepts to students. his test r rediculus also. when i took his class he seemed brainded and I fell asleep alot cause it was so boring!
Mr. Achille is a good teacher. He dosen't spell things out for you, and makes you think which is why most people find his class hard. I learn so much more when he teaches this way because this way you know if you are understanding it well.
Mr. Achille is a great teacher. He would teach the concept and then give you problems to practice it. If you had questions, you would ask him. The people who say he was a bad teacher probably never even bothered to ask questions. Although he is a very hard teacher.
He's painfully slow at explaining things (and just speaking in general) and is always TOTALLY unprepared for class. Uhhhhh.... let's see.
i love this teacher. although he is a little intimidating at first, he really is a great guy. if the class would stop talking and you would actually listen to what he has to say, hes a great teacher as well.
sarcastic without being funny. impossible to get help from outside of class. still a nice guy, but poor teacher.
Good guy, awesome person, but has to learn how to teach better cuz the homework has NOTHING to do with the tests. The tests and quizzes will blow you away
He's gotten a lot better since last semester. If you read pages the chapter in the book before the test you'll be fine.
he really needs to learn how to teach and learn to take control of his own class. This guy doesn't care what goes on
He's getting better. He still needs to build more confidence in what he is teaching tho.
Mr. Achille is the man. If you don't take his class seriously, he won't take you seriously. If you give it some effort, he will help you a lot.
He's a nice guy, but he really doesn't teach the class. i can't help but like him though
nice guy, but when it comes to teaching he honestly lacks potential...he should make the class more interactive or maybe more lively
He is soooooooooo BORING!!!!!!! I can't stand it being in his class
Says he was a gyminist and is related to the Greek legend Achilles. He's a teacher becaues he pulled his achilles tendon and had to stop gymnastics.
BAD BAD BAD TEACHER!! Avoid him-he thinks he's funny but he's not...
never answers your questions! Tells you to find out for yourself, instead of him doing his job!!
nice guy, horrible teacher. not much of a lecture-giver.
He is boring and i feel that i get dumber when i go to his class
