great teacher, but doesn't really know his students. Can't blame him bc he has so many, but he picks favorites very quickly and doesn't bother knowing the others
Zach Halop, portrays himself as the funny, fat, bald guy. He either likes you, doesn't like you or you are non-existent(majority fall in this category). The whole year I was in Bass Clef and Concert Chorale never said a word to me. Doesn't know who I am or what my name is. Always called me by the wrong name and never cared to take a moment to memorize it. I respect his passion for music and get he is knowledgeable in the subject but as a teacher I cannot respect.
Mr. Halop is an amazing choir teacher and really knows his stuff. He does a good job of making sure his students know the proper technique and always makes sure his students are having fun. He isn't afraid of making his students work hard which is great.
Best teacher!! Do not hesitate to take chorus, it'll be the best decision ever! He will do anything to share his passion for music with you. I felt like Mr. Halop and Ms. Keiko were my parents--that's how much they cared about their students.
terrific teacher. I absolutely love him. he's absolutely hilarious. yes, he's known to play favourites and repeat stories till you know them by heart. but he honestly cares about what he's doing. keiko, his wife, is fabulous. I adore her even more. he makes choral music worth it.
GREAT TEACHER he is just greatffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff
Mr. Halop is the BEST teacher i have EVER had!!! he is the reason why i LOVE music so much. before being in his class i hated music. He is the reason why i want to become a teacher. i am so greatful to him and Mrs. Keiko for giving me the best 4 years of my life. if you haven't taken one of his classes you don't know what your missing. i would recommend taking one of his choruses ASAP if you love to sing, work hard, and lastly have fun. After all, it is and elective and you elected to be there.
Mr. Halop is passionate about what he does. Because of him and Ms. Keiko, Northwood's choral program is formidable. However, he does tend to be harsh sometimes and definitely plays favorites.
i look forward to his class every other day. i have never had a teacher that loves what he does so much and is so dedicated to his students. However, he does pick favorites.
he's a really nice and cool teacher. but definitely picks favorites. and is a bit harsh at times. he really likes what he teaches and knows how to teach it :)
he can't say he doesn't pick favorites. mostly the people with good voices. he's pretty patient though, and really funny and dedicated.
Mr. Halop and Ms. Keiko are so incredibly dedicated to music and their students. I sincerely miss them both so much. Take chorus at Northwood---it's a once in a life-time chance that you won't regret.
great teacher!!! taught me so much, but he does play favorites and he seems very two sided. when you go talk to him individually he is like a totally different person, kind of intimidating
Mr. Halop and Ms. Keiko for that matter are great instructors that expect the best. They make the impossible accessible. They make great music happen. You learn so much in his choral program. Worth it
He makes school worth attending :) If you're even thinking about joining chorus just do it! It'll be well worth your time. Next year's going to be so dull knowing that I can't take his class =/
great music teacher. makes everyone enjoy his class.
You'll always look forward to class with Mr. Halop. He's an AMAZING teacher. anndd he's funny. never gonna be bored in a class with mr. halop!
very talented, just, fair, intelligent, inspirational teacher. i learned so much from him. not only music but other random common things we should know in our lives.
Mr. Halop has taught me so much. Taking chorus was one of the best decisions i ever made...it teaches me to go beyond my abilities. I advice everyone to take his class...you won't regret.
His jokes and teachings are sooooo addictive, totally usable outside of school. He will simply rock your sock. just know that everything that happens in the class stays in the class!
He is such a great teacher!! But he can be VERY busy at times. No time individually.
mr. halop is one of the most passionate teachers i've had. he preaches a lot, and so expect some story repeats. chorus was a great experience and i miss all the good times in chambers, pit, and tour.
Mr halop is simply the greatest chorus teacher ever! although he does repeat his jokes alot. haha. but he cares alot about all his groups. he always strives to be the best he can be and also pushes his groups to make quality music.
GREAT chorus teacher... but his moral teachings are soo repetitive.. not only does he repeat his jokes but his moral teachings have been beaten into my head.
Mr. Halop is really nice and is always encouraging. However, he always is degrading himself and he tells the same jokes over and over. But overall great teacher!
My child unfortunately hates school. However, Mr. Halop has helped change this a little. He is an amazing teacher. THANKS MR. HALOP!!!
most passionate teacher about what he does. four years go by really fast. enjoy it while it lasts because you'll definitely miss it.
hes a cool teacher, but he repeats his jokes a lot haha. the only thing about his class i dont like is the students, tc in particular, they hardly work.
yea he can be egotistical...i remembered once he lost some cash from his table and blamed it on students, made a long speech on morality, and then found it was always on his desk
Mr. Halop is the best..........You won't be bored in his class.
mr. halop is an amazing and understanding teacher. who cares about his students and tries to help whenever he can
Never boring!! Mr. Halop tells fun stories and class goes by super fast.
mr. halop is awesome, and anyone who says otherwise doesn't know what they're talking about! i have never met anyone more passionate and dedicated to teaching music.
haha had him in elementary school. tried to run me over with a shopping cart at albertsons... im still bitter. but cool anyways.
It's not that Halop was a bad teacher, it's that he always seemed to like certain students more than others. Sure he was a nice guy and all, but in order to be a great teacher, I think you should get to know all of your students.~2004 grad
Everywhere u look in his classes all you see are Asians. Nothing is wrong with them, but you have to be Asian to be on his good side. Plays favorites A LOT.
it really actually varies. halop's ok. off the subject way too much though... and... yeah...
I think Mr. H needs to stop favoring the same individuals. I think he is nice, however I think what he does is wrong.
Choir = *great* experience. Mr. H really seems to have "favorites," but so goes life. Ms. Keiko is really sweet and a world-class pianist!
Halop is by far the worst teacher ever!!! He is insecure with himself too.
Effective music teacher- hard to take in high doses, shatters self confidence
i havent him since 6th grade. he still tells the same stories?
Good teacher. He tells the same stories over and over again...but shh its ok.
