Mr. Glimme is very knowledgeable about chemistry although he is not a very "easy to understand" teacher. Often he sits at his computer and does not respond to you when you ask him a question. Sometimes he is disrespectful to his students for not understanding the material - which is rude. He has plenty of extra credit although ones grade in the class (for AP chemistry) does not represent how much of the material you have truly mastered. One finds that out the hard way- preparing for the AP exam.
Gives a good amount of work, but it's not overwhelming. He does not teach directly some times and he expects the students to watch lectures and learn material on their free time. It is very easy to fall behind in that class
Best teacher ever!!! Wonderful person and teacher. He loves the subject and is extremely knowledgable, it shows in his teaching. The class is challenging, and doesn't get overly involved in students academic well being- but he does lots of work in and outside of school to make himself accessible for questions. If you have the slightest interest in Chemistry, you will love it after this class. And even if you don't- it's still pretty bomb.
Mr. Glimme was the best teacher I've had so far at Berkeley High. He helped you get an A and gave extra credit while still totally preparing you for the AP test. He worked super hard in and outside of school to give as much help as was needed. Great lecturer.
Mr. Glimme is a fantastic teacher! His lectures are clear and he gives homework that his relevant to the topic but not unnecessary (Don't skip homework it's all very important). Mr. Glimme is also very good at making himself available outside of class with online review, lunch hours and study sections at La Val's. This class is taught at an AP lvl. so if you don't like science or find it's too hard in the first quarter drop it because unlike Ms. Mizbani he won't tell you to leave his class.
Mr. Glimme goes out of his way to help his students. I'm really grateful to have him as a teacher.
Mr. Glimme is the most engaged and accessible teacher I have ever had. He uses time outside of school to reteach us material for upcoming tests. In the classroom he is very supportive. Even if one student doesn't fully understand the material he uses class time to explain it in a new way to him/her. This ultimately helps the entire class. He is great! Don't expect this class to be academically easy!
He's a really nice guy and knows a lot about Chem. Yes his tests are hard but you can make it up with extra credit. He's definitely better than Hansen.
mr glimme is a really nice guy and a super chemistry genius but he's not the best teacher and the tests are really really hard...on the bright side he gives tons of extra credit and hardly any homewor
I had Mr. Glimme for AP Chem. He taught the class like a college course is a high school setting: short lecture, time to ask questions or study, optional HW, difficult curved tests. Oh, except for the
no help at all. he obviously understands science well, but he's an awful teacher.
He's super awesome. If you really pay attention and do al the work you will do well and have fun too!
Mr. glimme is a very nice guy, and for some people probably a great teacher. But for me, In Ap chem i needed things explained very thouroghly and a more attentive teacher.
Mr. Glimme is a fantastic teacher. I understand how some people might think he ignores the class, but I think that what he does is let us learn our own way. Great technology too.
mr. glimme is SUCH a good teacher! some people may think that he doesnt pay attention to the class and he doesnt care about answering questions but he just trusts the kids enough to do their own work
He's a grea guy and all, but in my AIS he basiclly just sits at the front with his laptop and does what he does. He only helps you if you specifically ask for help, and he seems not to care much at al
He doesn't pay much attention to the class. These of course makes him cool/not bad.
