I had Mrs. Carroll for AP Statistics. Prepared us immensely, making the exam seem pretty simple and straightforward. However, she does pick favorites and makes fun of/humiliates certain people in class. She gives out a lot of homework, but it pays.
what the guy 3 below me said. and i dont like her teaching method of "embarrassing you into getting the right answer". She thinks everybody learns the same way which is the worst part. The thing is, she actually has the potential to be a like-able teacher, but her negative attitude always gets in the way.
Wants to help, but her anger and frustration gets in the way.
tries to embarrass into correct answer, creates very negative attitude and enviroment, but is a good teacher.
She tries to fail students. She also puts them through tests completely unrelated to math. If a student fails to learn their life lessons, Ms. Carroll says they should not graduate.
tough class, tough personality, excellent teacher. my entry level college math classes were so easy because she prepares you so well
yeah the course is hard, but thats due to the nature of the course, sure she can pick favorites, but as long as you try she will always be willing to help you.
One of the worst teachers I've ever had. I went from being a straight A student in junior year, to a C-,D- student. She yells all the time and told my class that we would all work at McDonalds one day.
Her class is hard, but she's a really good teacher who cares about what she's doing. She can pick favorites, but as long as you try and go for help its not that bad. The only problem is that she has very little patience.
A really good teacher and explains things in an extremely helpful way. In college I'm still using the notebook she made us do for a grade, its seriously useful! Really challenges students and pleasant
She hated me and my flip flops. But i bet outside of school she couldn't have been ok.
if she got over her ego her class would be right up there with mr. duffy's. unfortunetly her "embarass you into getting the right answer" approach is never helpful
If you complain about her you are probably a slacker (I was). If you are a good student and care about your education, she will definitely help you. Overall, she's a good teacher
I hated her with the whole flip flop thing and thought she was evil, but she's actually an EXCELLENT math teacher and makes every day different. Great at teaching!
Everyone that matters agrees: nicest person in the school (even Civ said so!) Great heart, will make fun of you :) Love her!
The best math teacher I've ever had. Ms. Carroll is nice, witty, and helpful. The only problem is she can be really condescending to her students and doesnt give them much respect.
She is hard, but it makes you really appreciate it when you finally understand. She is willing to go the extra mile for her students, and not just favorites...
is extremely helpful when you stay after class, but isn't as effective during class time. tests are way too long; is rude to some students
She is a hard teacher. She get's you ready for college. periods too short, need more time for tests...and tests should be conceptual rather than ok what is 1+1.
She is willing to go the extra mile to help you learn what you need to for college. She wants you to succeed! She is strict, but it is to prep u 4 life!
some people shouldn't teach. Caroll is one of those people. She's nice ,but she can't teach.
Best math teacher in history. She's tough b/c that's how you learn. Work hard, get no higher than a B, and be proud. You actually learned something. Stat rules.
good teacher. stays after school if you need something. very clear and organized.
She's a really hard teacher but only because she actually uses math terms. She's the best to go to to actaully learn math.
She is a very hard teacher but I like to be challenged. She keeps it interesting
I had Miss Carrol at Villa and she was the best Math teacher I ever had! Thanks! '87 (present teacher in public school)
good teacher, knows her stuff and gets kids mad at her cause because she inforces the rules
