Mr. DeRosa knows what he's talking about, but his style of teaching is relatively mundane. Homework is excessive and repetitive, accokoanied by hard tests.
Pretty good at explaining things but it often doesn't matter because he gives very difficult tests and even though most of the class fails a test, he refuses to curve or give corrections. He also can get mad easily, but he is usually in a good mood. This was all for regular calculus. If you take one of his honors classes he is a lot more lenient, I once heard that a student got a 30 on one of his honors tests and he changed it to a 65. Not his regular classes though
Mr. Derosa is decent at explaining things and is always willing to answer any questions that one may have. However, his tests are ridiculously difficult and use questions from math levels far above ours. We had several tests that more than half the class failed, yet he blamed it on the students and refused to curve them or offer corrections. Lastly, he is usually a kind, funny, dude but he sometimes has random bipolar moments where he will get super serious and make everyone uncomfortable. <3
A great nice guy overall but ive only been in his class for 3 weeks and I dont understand a thing. He is not very clear when teaching and he does not go over the HW to see if we actually got it right or not. I have had to use online resources like Kahn Academy to teach me everything.
Honestly an amazing teacher. Changed my life. Easily one of the better teachers at Mamaroneck. He may be slightly difficult at times, but he is really all about making his students understand and love math.
Mr. Derosa was the best teacher I have ever had. His classes were challenging and he made them fun. The pace was just fast enough, not too hard but not at all easy. Everyone said his tests were challenging but if you studied hard enough they were fine. I LOVED his class!
He is such a great teacher, even though his tests are quite challenging. You get very used to his class.
Definitely a love him or hate him teacher. His exams are notorious for being more difficult than the classwork, and as such he's *always* swamped by people looking for extra help. Wouldn't say he's ev
hes a great teacher and really clear and will help you if you go after school but STUDY FOR THE TESTS!!!! SOOOOO HARD
he's a reeeallly amazing teacher, but he is the hardest i've everr had. the year i had him was the year that getting 70's was no big deal. he is very good at what he does though!
I would say he is a really good teacher but 95% of his tests are practically impossible as it was previously mentioned that he is good at teaching but hes usally swamped by other kids so much you cant get an ounce of help
gives very helpful notes but (sometimes) extremely hard tests. besides that, he's my favorite teacher this year!
He's a good person, but he prides himself in being intentionally difficult. Tests are routinely harder than the homework, and extra help is usually of little use (he's always swamped by other kids).
He's known for being very harsh and strict at times, but he also has a good sense of humor that he uses in class, and is good about extra help if he thinks you really need it.
He is a good teacher, though he can be sarcastic and cruel. We learn a lot, and he uses his great (though sometimes mean) sense of humor in teaching, and can be helpful when it comes to extra help
I had him for 2 yrs. He was really hard both years and he is proud of it. He's not always that clear and but, if you go after class, he is helpful. Kids either love him or hate him, no inbetween.
I had him 4 years ago for course 2h. I think he did a great job of making you really think about math, and of rooting out the kids who didn't belong in honors classes. overall, a great teacher.
Very Nice. If you blink during the class, you miss the entire lesson. He is great for extra help, but hard in-class.
Good teacher, despite the experiences of others. I think you just have to be his 'type.' I did well in his class even though I'm a Sox fan -- no worries about Yank favouritism. :)
Great guy, Good teacher, a bit fast, but a Yankees fan. What posesses someone to make the Yankees into gods that way. GO SOX! The curse is reversed!
Dero is the man!!! i love him so much, and anyone who complains about him clearly hasnt had greenhouse. hes the best teacher ever, and hes awseom!!
Derosa's the man, nuff said. He teaches well and is a pretty cool guy besides.
Though he is a great guy, nice, funny, and understanding, his teaching technique doesn't work for me all the time
The best teacher!!! HE is very helpful and is always there to help you before school. He also made up a really cool nickname for me.
He's a great teacher if you pay attention. But he moves quick so don't blink or your gonna fail.
hes a very good teacher but hes so fast that u cant catch up! but a very funnie man
He's the greatest! so nice, and is a very clear teacher. you'll appreciate him if you have brause after!!
I try to see the good in him, but all I can see is how horrible he is. And what's with all the yankee paraphernalia?
