SHP Class of 2014. I had Mr. Pucciarelli for honors English my senior year, and though his class lectures may sometimes be boring for students, he loves what he teaches, and his assignments are engaging. As a junior Information Technology/Computer Science major/minor, I have written a very limited number of papers for my non-core classes, but when I have, the research, writing, and citation skills I learned in this class have allowed me to produce very respectable, college-level work.
Alumni Class of 89. I had him for two years. He knows the material very well. He also teaches it very well. Another positive thing to say is he respects his students and wants them to succeed. However he has a Jekyll and Hyde personality. On Monday he walks into class happy as can be and is your best friend. Tuesday he will walk into class mad at the world and hates you with a passion. I think he is one of Seton Hall Prep's best teachers hands down. However he is not without his faults.
He knows his stuff very well. But his class is EXTREMELY boring. And he tends to repeat himself over and over and over, which just contributes to the maddening boredom. He's a bit ridiculous when it comes to format. The thing I really hated is the creative writing assignments. Reading them for the class was a little mortifying. Everyone was forced to come up with something actually good. No way of half-assing them without looking like an idiot. Good luck.
He knows what he is talking about, but doesn't know how to teach it. His class is very boring, I look around the room to see most of my classmates sleeping. And it is impossible to good on a paper because he takes off for the dumbest things.
He does not understand that, senior year, grades are VITAL, so he does not give homework. He knows his stuff but, without homework, it's not settled in. No HW grade, which is okay. Unrelenting.
Very detailed in his grading. He goes over a paper and makes extremely helpful corrections. Tough tests, for sure. But you'll be a better writer by the end of his class.
he is very well educated. he may not be the easiest teacher, but he will try to help you if you try to help yourself
he really knows his stull. You are truly prepared for college after taking his course. Excellent teacher.
We're not in college yet....lighten up on the Brit Lit. The worst course ever.
good techaer. He nos his stuf. me reale had funn n englsih wtih him. He is obesssed with OJ Simpson throw. He is really dmubo on the vokab. 300 words on da fi nal!
The BEST Enlish teacher there. He teaches more than what's in the book. It's been years, but I still think about his class--he's the real deal. '93
Tests are really hard, but he gives you a lot of chances for extra credit which he adds to your final average, not your test grades.
tough tests, should'nt have to know all the vocab from the beginning of the year till day of test
Hard for seniors to try and juggle college apps with the naturally difficult material in his course. Spends too much time on the early material of the course.
very good teacher, encourages students to learn as much as possible. incredibly exacting grader, but very helpful and intelligent.
He is such a sophisticated man, that listening to him teach is interesting, but the material can sometimes put you to sleep.
