Ms. Ubieta is the best Spanish Teacher in the department. She is so knowledgeable and probably knows the most about the language and literature than any other Spanish teacher at Stuy. She is also very good at explaining the language and is able to put grammar into terms you can comprehend as an English speaker, a very rare skill among language teachers. Yes, while she is super busy and absent a lot, she is a great teacher when she is hear and leads stimulating discussions and fun classes.

She is always late to class, does not teach and only gives us work to stay busy. She is always talking about her sons and how great they are. A question I have is, why is Mr. Bravo always in the classroom?

She makes me wonder every day why I didn't take conversational Spanish instead of AP Spanish. She grades so harshly on essays. Unless you write really good essays, don't take AP Spanish because you will most likely get her.

makes me regret taking AP Spanish. unreasonable grading system as you only get like 3-4 essays so if you do badly on one essay then ur screwed. I honestly came into the class from 3rd year spanish knowing MORE spanish than I did while in her class. At least she tries to teach...

Hardly ever there. Harsh grader. Can be funny at times, but she's quite intimidating. Not helpful at all to students who are struggling. If you have her for AP and you're reading this, get ready for h

I actually think that she is a great person. I asked her if she could help change my program for Spanish, and she moved me from FS1 (Level 1) to FS5.

If you just want an easy class and don't care about actually learning Spanish or having a teacher to help you grow, then she's perfect. And her favorites are all the obnoxious kids.

Dedicated to the textbook & grammar worksheets, lacking in creativity and originality. Leaves the the class unattended to take care of administrative duties. Absent quite often. You'll do well on exams.

For AP Spanish her approach is pretty good. She is good at teaching comprehension and is a fun teacher/person but relies too much on book exercises (Repaso) to teach grammer
