HORRIBLE! I had her for Geometry Honors in 2002 as a Freshman and had to drop down to regular Geometry. She doesn’t teach and gives super difficult exams (in which she has to curve every time bc everyone does so poorly on them). I didn’t want to risk my overall GPA and had to make the decision to drop out of her class.
I have had her for Sophomore year and then for Junior year. She is a very accepting person, she is only strict if you don't pay attention in class. If you go in during lunch to ask her questions she will happily help you. Her tests are not challenging if you do the homework. If you pay attention in class her lessons are short and to the point, the rest of the time is for homework. I start studying two days before the test date and I ended with an A all two years.
Ms. Nairi doesn't teach at all. She just shows you a couple of problems on the board and expects you to know everything. When she asks for help she expects you to know everything and doesn't clarify what you're confused about. She won't raise grades or do extra credit. Her tests are nothing like what you "learned." Waste of a semester
Ms. Nairi is a great Pre-Calculus teacher! She teaches the formulas and mathematic techniques that are required to complete problems. As long as people do the homework, tests are a breeze (although her test is a bit lengthy in my opinion). Homework is lengthy but pretty easy. I took Algebra 2 Honors and learned NOTHING from a bad teacher, but I managed to relearn the topics from there in here.
PS test questions are about the same format as the homework, so DO YOUR HOMEWORK KIDS!!!
You might not pass her class but you will have one heck of a year if your friends are in the same period.
I am one of those unlucky people who has had Nairi for the past two years. Here is a tip on survival, kiss up. I think I kissed up so much that in the end she curved my final higher cause my grade was borderline. Also if you kiss up enough, she will write you a really good rec. She really has no idea how to teach so make sure you just practice every single problem from the textbook for that chapter before the test.
Nairi is a very difficult teacher. I am very happy that there is another Pre-Calc H teacher in our school because Nairi ran a gauntlet. She is a poor teacher, demanding on the homework, and not too bad when not talking about math. She is initially very welcoming for lunch, but doesn't seem to like explaining things when you are there. I still believe you should take Pre-Calc H if you can but hope you don't get Nairi.
she's really smart, but can't teach at all. i learned absolutely nothing in her class and could barely pass. completely ruined my life because I was stressed over her class 24/7. now kids, remember, when in doubt, just take the damn derivative.
I have her for precalc/calc a honors at the moment as a sophomore. Her lessons are short (like, about 5 minutes) because she just points at different parts of the lesson with a sentence or two here and there. Her test problems are AMC (American Math Challenge) and college level. It's pretty much self study and hoping for the best on the test, where she expects you to apply previous knowledge and concepts along with the concepts in the chapter being tested. She's very picky with the way you do hw
she is VERY knowledgable. however, she does not know how to explain any of this knowledge to her students. She doesnt teach at all and her tests are very different from what you do for hw. she consistently has to curve the tests just for most of us to get a C on the test. she gets annoyed when you ask her for help, especially if ur not one of the smarter students. she's a really nice and sweet person when she's not talking about math. but once you talk to her about math, she becomes annoyed.
To be honest, even though everyone is saying that Ms.Nairi is not a good teacher, I think shes all right. But maybe that's because I have her for algebra 2, one of her easier courses. She is pretty nice and doesn't get mad easily. I dont see why she has such a bad reputation. If you do her homework, ask questions, etc, then you should do well on her tests. However, a downside is that her class can get boring sometimes, but then again, most math courses are boring.
One of the easiest class I'm going through right now. I can't believe all these other students struggling when they need to believe that Nairi can teach them. Everyone is studying for hours when just listening to Nairi and taking notes has made my life super easy and the class even easier. I hope she teaches whatever Math class I take next year again. Very friendly I gifted her a 200$ Visa Card too during Christmas to show my respect for her teaching skills. -Toby Z Good Luck Whoever has Her!!!!
No doubt WORST teacher ever. She is lazy.Doesn't return test on time. Won't return mid-term and finals. Not sure if she is even grades them, makes up a fake grade for "quiz average. No quiz is EVER given in class. She will ruin your GPA. Fire her pls.
yeah she kinda teaches but she speaks TOO FAST and expects us to understand the lesson in 3 seconds and if you ask her the same question twice, she gets really impatient. just don't get on her bad side, do the homework, and you'll be fine.
Her class is hard, but that because I'm in her honors, so its obviously expected. You just have to pay attention and ASK QUESTiONS.
Her Lessons: 1 1=2 Her Homework: 1 2=3 Her Tests: Johnny has 3 apples calculate the mass of the sun Her Teaching methods: First this, this, this and that's how you do it. get it? no? well pay attention.
Honestly you should never judge a book by its cover. Shes actually a sweetheart when you get to know her. Yes she may be hard and doesn't have the greatest methods of teaching but in the long run her class prepared me for college and life itself.you don't always have the easy way out.College is the just the same were you gotta read ,teach yourself at home and ask questions in class. Nairi definitely had a great impact on me.Loved making her laugh when i come to class with my waxed eyebrows lol
shes a horrible teacher. she doesn't teach at all all she does is give us the answer for the hw from last night for like 10 min and let us do hw for rest of the period. the end. she never teaches. eve
She's perhaps the worst math teacher there is out of the entire school. For one thing, she can't teach at all. Her tests are extremely hard. If you have her, get a tutor if you don't want to fail.
if you read the lesson before class, you'll understand her a lot better and do better on tests
had her freshmen year. she had personal life problems and had to deal with some stuff which left the students neglected. the tests were incredibly hard and got to the point where a 65% was usually an A on a test.
just horrible, horrible teacher, blames everything on students despite that she is not perfectly clear while teaching the subject
She doesnt teach and she misses a whole bunch of days of school and then the subs dont know how to teach it.So how are we supposed to learn it????
you gotta give her a break shes been having lots of problems at home and with her family. I actually would like to see her get better but at this rate it doesnt seem like it. Her personal life really affected my freshmen class and the highest grade on tests were no more than D's and that would like round to an A. It was just awful
i don't understand what see is talking about so easiness is not that easy, for helpfulness ask her a question and she goes you should have paid attention, even though it makes no sense so you learn nothing, clarity you have no idea what she is talking about so you have to ask other students on how to do it, she is kind... sometimes not all the time not most of the time, only when she is eating or drinking is she nice
there was myth that she once actually taught her students, however, i refuse to believe that. her grading makes no sense at all, and she refuses to explain how she grades. sometimes it even gets worse, one time we had a firedrill on the day of a test, and with the remaining 15 minutes left in class, she still made us take the test. she counted all the problems we didnt have time to do against us. whats even worse is that the coucilers dont really care at all..even when half the class made complaints.
I absolutely hate nairi! She is ridiculous. You basically have to learn all chapters by yourself, because all she does is assign homework without teaching. If she does actually find time to teach, everything that comes out of her mouth just makes you even more confused. She also hates giving tests, because she doesn't want to grade them (you're a teacher, that's your job!) so for example, when you're on chapter 15, this is where she gives the chapter 12 test. If you do get her, I feel very bad for you.
she doesnt teach at all. the average day is coming into class and her giving another homework assignment. she grades tests weird and shes always paranoid and accuses people of random stuff. your going to have to teach yourself jsut about everything since she doesnt.
Aww, you guys are so mean. She's nice. She teaches fine too. Nairi rocks!
She doesn't teach all that well, and the class is boring. She can be funny though, but sometimes she's late getting to class, and having her first period and waiting outside in the rain is not fun.
i love nairi!!! she's really really nice and sweet if you aren't annoying. :)
nairi's the best!!! Always try your best in her class haha :) She's really cool
She is absolutely funny in my class. She may be intimidating at times, but in our class there is usually laughs everyday. Our class makes her smile so she is awesome =)
she is really really really hard but very good at helping you and explaining stuff she was really nice to me cause i got on her good side but she can be really cool most of the time even though she had her bad days she was a really hard but pretty cool teacher if you like working your @ss off then you will lik her
shes alright i guess she gives ok amount of HW and her tests arent that hard. Its true though that she accuses people of things that they didn't do so be careful around her.
Although she looks kind of intimidating, she's actually a really nice person. Her class is kind of boring, most of the time we just work on our hw. Her tests aren't that hard.
She's a teacher for only students who TRULY belong to honors geometry. She pushes me to the limit, and it really helped my improve my work habits in math. As for Nairi-haters, you are simply not ready for honors. [continued]
I slept in her class and still got an A. Study outside of class- it helps more. Do homework, although she doesnt really mark you down for not having it. Funto talk to outside of class, harsh in class. Tests are unfairly hard.
Though she may look intimidating, she is very very nice and cool as long as you don't do something stupid (i.e. cheat on a test). Take notes, pay attention, be polite, and you'll have a great time in her class.
The worst teacher ever that I've met. Extremely lazy, does not tend to help students. Her "teaching" is more of a do-it-yourself which in no way helps a student learn. Try and actually TEACH rather than read some damn book.
she gives really hard tests, but the curves can go up to 60% sometimes. she's really fun and gives out chocolate randomly. =]
Tests are extremely hard, but the curve helps. Take CAREFUL notes and organize notebook. Otherwise, very social, funny, every class she's had including mine have thrown surprise parties for her, she's that fun.
She's out of tune with students, gives totally random grades on your homework, and doesn't seen to like math
funny stories. test are sort of hard, but listen and thats good. alot of curve points. homeworks and tests questions are similar.
she's fun to talk to, and she's a good teacher too. she's always willing to help u, just as long as you ask her. her tests are hard, but as long as you listen in class, u'll do wel
cant teach not enough time fer tests try and change ur shcedule
her tests are really hard, but there'll be a curve on ur grade. hw's the key to survive on her teats. problems in the tests r usually predictable. just change the #s in hw problems
the hardest teacher you will ever have. pretty nice, but tests are SUPER HARD! but no worries...memorize the entire textbook word for word and you'll end up with a C
takes of points on tests if you dont put sin(pi/2) = 1 or e^0 = 1 or 1 x 0 = 0. WOW. i mean we're in calc D. HIGHEST math offered here, and she wants us to show trivial work. great
entire class period is spent with her standing in front of board, answer book in arm, and copying answers. when done, more hw. doesnt teach/explain, reads out of textbook
doesnt explain, doesnt teach, wants u to memorize formulas for the most specific of cases, if u cant do something she can, she goes "look u guys...blah blah" and make u feel stupid
you'll have a good time in her class, no doubt. just know that she doesn't explain things too well so you have to study on your won. her tests are freking hard!
she's alright i guess. just get on her good side. and pay attention. don't sleep in class! its great how she curves. or else... everyone would fail.
she`s awesome personality wise, but teaching wise, sometimes she gets confused lol.. but shes really nice.. hw is from problem 1 to the end.... and hard tests
i'm having her right now. she cant teach w/out answer sheet of some sort, screws up a lot. very disorganized in showing work and VERY VERY PARANOID.
As others have said. VERY HARD TESTS. First semester I pulled off a B while everyone had A's. She is very funny with the stories, but HARD to understand.
Hey, she's funny and fun. Her tests are hard first semester. You just need to memorize things. Second semester is pure algebra. You'll get used to her trick
verryyy hard tests. however study and do hw and pay attention in class and you should be fine. she teaches pretty well and is a cool person (u get parties!)
well, i liked her. it's just that her tests are way hard. just pay attention in class and study. that's all you can do. but she did prepare me for later.
have trouble on hard tests; calc is difficult to get an A in unless you really know the stuff. don't really understand some parts of lecture
she's a pretty good teacher and she talks to her students a lot but dangitt her tests are friggin hard. and she's a lil bit paranoid about ppl cheating on tests
shes nice and all....but my god this lady cant teach...and her test if i remember correctly were fairly hard...but she does curve...bascially just do homework..
hated her. doesnt teach very well ... but you can still manage to get a pretty good grade. her tests are HARD though
She is so Nice but really hard. But still, if you make it into her class, you should do well!
WOW!! NAIRI IS HARD, but she's a great teacher and really loves the students. She has a good sense of humor and always has fun with us!
She's really hard..but its good for you!...and she's a great teacher!!..really smart! She will always help you if you need it and she's probably the best math teacher I've ever had!!
people get bad grade, because they either procrastinate or do not practice or do their HW. She is okay, but gregarious in SOME way.
nice and funny teacher...tests are hard but makes u really think and actually study
Ms. Nairi's a decent teacher. Her grading curves are awesome but her tests are hard. watch out for those 20 page finals. nice teacher...not so nice of a person
nice, but hard test, bad teaching and not very clear
she's really nice to you, but gets into moods sometimes
Er... unclear, goes over things too quickly, leaves you confused...
After HER tests . . . all other classes are guaranteed As or A+s. I dropped too.
She's ssssooo easy.. Why are so many people getting D's and F's???!!
the class was ok but the tests are so hard!!! u should've seen the 12 page final
cool, hard test but with a great curve for it so we all do fine.
She is funny. She gets along with students in the class. Jokes along with us.
