He's retiring this year. His AP Stats class is extremely difficult. The material is not hard to learn, but the tests are ridiculous. Students often are unable to answer all the questions or finish the test. The class average tends to be around the 60s-70s. He curves a lot, so you'll end up with 90+ average if you get 60s on the test. His computer labs are relatively easy to do and he gives you class time to finish it. He's very knowledgeable and rarely gives homework.
Dr. F's stat class is extremely difficult and you need to do a lot of self learning if you're not a math person and can't get the concepts down within a day. Although he curves, class averages are around mid 30's to high 40's (which goes to a range of 70-90). Take it senior year if you care about it enough but don't want to damage your grades.
I have spent countless hours doing his computer projects he assigns every few weeks. I am a junior, and being constantly bombarded with tests and projects every day, I wish to be met with a positive, encouraging learning environment from teachers whose classes I genuinely have interest in. But, in the case of "doctor" Feigenbaum, not only does he give a demeaning attitude to only me and not my fellow classmates, he also criticizes my work when it follows the exact guidelines he gives.
To be quite frank, his class wasn't as bad as everyone made them out to be and I was just an average stuy kid if not slightly below. Sure the averages might 50-70, but he curves your grades. Sure I might not have been his favorite student and might not have been as intellectually smart as the other kids in the class but that didn't stop me from getting a 95 in the class. It's all about how much effort you put in.
he is a very good teacher and will answer all your questions. however his tests are insanely hard, and picks on certain students. he definitely has favorites. don't cut his class and MAKE SURE u do al
I'm surprised to see such bad ratings. I really enjoy his statistics class, although I'm not doing as well as I'd like to (my own fault entirely). He's very funny and has well planned, entertaining le
I don't know how he is for regular math, but his stat class has been very enlightening for me. I learned a lot, and though his tests are hard(50 is average) you get a big bump. And he likes it when he
great teacher. loved his class. but you have to study. tests are not that bad. learned a lot
he's ok as a teacher if you pay attention and take good notes in class. his tests are difficult but he gives 20 pt curves and is a bit more lenient torwards the final grade
seriously how does anyone do well in this class? he teaches horribly and is so ditzy.
he gets off track on his own and we get confused subsequently. notoriously hard tests.
He doesn't teach well, and his tests are a killer. They only benefit him, because he gets a high off of making the curve. You'll get a 95 from an 80, but then you realize that you actually got the 80.
Worst teacher in the math department, yet gives tests harder than any other
Doesn't teach or cover the material well. His tests are hard.
Difficult tests. Have to know all the shortcuts in order to finish on time. Don't go with him for precalculus.
He gives us tests that we can't even finish...what's the point of that? Aren't teachers supposed to help us PASS the class?!
his only problem is he's too smart to be a teacher and often has difficulty understanding students confusion. except for that, he's pretty cool.
He is so cool. He teaches at a harder level than should be for high school, but he's really enthusiastic about what he teaches.
I actually learned a good amount, even though his class was kinda boring.
The avg test grade in his financial mkts class is usually in the 40%-50% range, then he uses some bizrre conversion technique to give ppl whatever grades he feels like.
really bad teacher. doesnt bother to learn names, gives tests that are much harder than what we're supposed to learn and discourages everyone from taking ap test. cant stop talking about his research
Feigenbaum expects his class to be bored, he expects his kids to do bad.. And gives test harder than the content he teaches and harder than any other tests in my year.. Why? Why? WHY? Tests show nothing and HARD ONES SHOW LES
I think he's pretty fair. If you do the homework and pay attention, you won't do terribly on tests.
Lighten up and give Mr. Feigenbaum so respect. He actually teaches the class, gives a fair amount of homework, and explains everything. However, his tests are ridiculously difficult.
This teacher is too easy. He gives no homework and teaches nothing.
Another example of where we should list the class we took with him. I liked him for easy math A but for calc, in his own words "separate the 70's from the 100's", it was lame. His tests are a LOT harder than the homeworks.
Pretty OK teacher. We get alot done also, but I have him for Math Research, so I really can't say anything on tests. But he does teach very intresting math concepts.
Teaches like a college prof, tests like a college prof. That's a good thing, we're all going to college right?
I loved Feigenbaum... funny class if u have normal ppl in it. Lol always looks at where the back wall/ceiling meet when talking. Cool guy tho. Looks easily frightened tho
you have to actually do work but if you try, you'll learn and learn a lot
also a really nice guy
pretty good teacher, but doesnt explain stuff very well and gives amazingly hard tests...but after having lostal ny1 seems good
oh god the plastic lessons from the 70's. he is a really bad teacher, gets off track, and his tests are really hard pay attention tho and u might learn somethin
gives long tests. i always find myself only just getting up to the end when the bell rings.
its hard to keep awake in his class... and he's not such a terrific teacher either.
He has no structure and no organization whatsoever which is a BAD thing when it comes to pre-calculus.
