Mr. Ray is an awesome teacher. Really knows his stuff and cares about his students. Very laid back, you have to really try hard to get him even a little annoyed. Very lenient on deadlines. Easy quizzes if you read, which you should do. Participation matters. It's too bad he's retiring after this year. He will be missed.
Mr Ray is a great teacher. His teaching style is different to that of a normal english class, but I liked it that way. The essay topics were broad, giving you a lot of room to develop your ideas. He also doesn't really do deadlines, which is good if you are taking other hard classes and just can't get around to it. Really, you only need to do two things to succeed in his class: do the reading and participate. His quizzes are really hard, but if you do the reading you should be fine.
I had him for expos. and it was my favorite English class! Ray gave us really broad essay topics so we could write about things we were interested in instead of just analyzing literature. Also, he had no deadlines. As a procrastinator, this was both a blessing and a curse.
took 3 worlds. the class itself is nice and laid back, and the quizzes are incredibly easy if you can be bothered to do the small amount of reading assigned.
I have him for novel and his classes are all just notes to take on his perception of what the book is about and his pop quizes are difficult questions that you dont necessarily pass even if you have read.
i have mr ray for Analysis in context and he is great, can be very entertaining
Hm....he's cool, not too easy and beware of his handwriting (especially on the board)
I had him for expository writing, had a great time. He let us debate on big topics, and guided us instead of getting in the way. Very smart, knows how to teach, and is very nice.
Mr. Ray was awesome!! very relaxed, great teacher, easy to talk to!! just all over amazing teacher!!
Interesting teacher but wasn't always clear on telling students how to write better.... But I enjoyed the class a lot.
Mr. Ray is the man. Friendly and always says hello. I was on Fountain with him and he was just a great advisor of it too. :)
Really nice, generous with assignment extensions, and (like everyone says) always says hi in the halls. :)
Mr. Ray is amazing. Absolutely not obsessive about deadlines and the like, just cares that you do it eventually, you learn and you think.
Greatest English teacher at LS. Makes every class interesting and always says hey...whatsup in the hallways.
real nice guy, always tosses the 'what's up' in the hallways
