Mr. McDermott has a weird way of teaching. Usually he goes off topic and begins telling about his own experiences...but sometimes he makes important comments about the topic in history. His exams are rather difficult, but if you analyze his notes and keep in mind some of the things he says you'll do well. Mr. McDermott is kind of awkward but has good intentions in teaching his students. In general, his teaching style is unique, his tests are hard, but he is a nice person. Yeah, that wraps it up.
Mr. McDermott is an overall good teacher. But to be honest, his classes are really boring for most students. He basically just reads through his self-made "textbook" (which is a good thing), but in a boring way. But if you really pay attention, you can learn a lot. But if you don't pay attention or just pay little attention from time to time, as most people do, your grade will still be fine as long as you study before tests.
Mr. McDermott is a good teacher... to some. If you're an erudite bookworm like he is, you'll definitely find him interesting. I suspect he might have secret dreams of being a writer. His teaching style has a lot to be desired (it's easy to start staring into space when he's talking about the actual lesson), but if you really pay attention to him, you'll learn your stuff. (And you'll learn some fascinating stories about his past). Make sure to study his notes, and treat him kindly.
He's a lecturer, not a teacher. I didn't learn much in the class but he knows just about everything on the planet. Study everything in his notes and you'll be fine.
Agh, his class was pretty easy, but he was definitely one of the worst teachers I've had. He didn't teach anything and had favorites. (Mostly pretty white girls.)
... he's quirky, but somewhat a fine teacher. he doesn't actually teach anything, but he knows quite a lot.
Mr. McDermott can be weird sometimes, but respect him! He's not a great teacher, but he is one of the smartest people I have ever met.
Without Mr. McDermott I don't know how I coulv'e survived my freshmen year! I adore him and he is really the best, funniest, and most helpful history teacher I've ever had :)
omg i love charles. he is fabulous and a great teacher. i am going to miss him!
Mr. McDermott is an amazing teacher if you apply yourself. What he teaches isn't easy and he will always put it in ways a student can understand. He is fantastic.
not a great teacher at all. he doesn't teach and he has clear favorites
If you're willing to put in a bit of extra effort in his class, Mr. McDermott will more than respond in kind. He's a great teacher, a great mentor and a great friend to students who are interested. If you're not interested, you can get a relatively easy A in his class and be on your way, but there will be dozens of books, anecdotes, concerts, bits of trivia, plays, etc. without which your life will be rather dull...or at least mine would.
Very funny, smart man. He tries to make sure everyone is on the same page. He can be a little harsh on the seniors, but you get used to it.
Mr. McDermott is definitely the best and most involved tacher at DA.
yes about penmanship but what about doc? rly rly dedicated w/ the sports; TELLS you everything on tests.. if you want to do well, there's no way you won't. rly sensitive to others
VerRYy cooL i have him as freshmen histoy teacher!soooo funN
this guy knows his stuff. penmanship is a bit illegible but not a big deal. his notes on the da site are really helpful. and he's really dedicated with the spor
he was a really cool teacher and his class was easy if you just bothered to study.
a great man. he's very helpfull and although i had a bit of trouble at first & really respect him. he teaches because he WANTs to not b/c he needs to.
mc d is the best ... he is soo understanding, and ALWAYS tells you what is on the tests ... and if it werent for him, there would be NO SPORTSS
