Had him 5 years ago. Nearly flunked, and he told me that if I continued to be this way in college, I'd fail. Luckily I paid attention and got it together. His class was easily the biggest prep for college. Lots of people say he doesn't grade clearly, and a lot of professors won't either. He won't tolerate late work, attendance is mandatory for a grade, and detail is important. Doubt he's softened on that policy much. Put in the work and you'll pass and be ready for college life.
Mr.Brachetti is a very bright man who might not be the easiest teacher in the world but he really makes you look at both sides of arguments to think about more than we usually do when it comes to a argument. I feel people give him bad raps because he is kind of a hard teacher. I feel he gets frustrated at students because they are not stepping up to the challenge and people are putting up the bare minimum. sadly he has moved to Brentsville High School
As a person, he is really nice and a mindful person. However, he is a terrible teacher and continually plays favorites. I will give him credit for the effort he puts in to help students, but his advice is never satisfying. He expects too much out of his students, and it's almost as if he hides work from them. To succeed in his class, you must act as a kiss-up. Not to mention his grading style, it's very odd and not something easily understandable.
1.Knows a lot, but expects you to do most of the reading/learning.
2.Kind of biased looking back, focuses more on certain political themes than others.
3.Very nice person, though. If you are struggling, he will try to figure out why. I respected that.
4.If you didn't like him, you probably won't like college. This is how nearly all college teachers are.
Overall very mixed bag, but he does a lot to prepare you for college. Most high-schoolers will be caught off guard, though.
I had Mr. Branchetti for my AP English in 12th grade. He is an extremely unorganized and hasty teacher who makes zero academical connection with his students. He's very unemotional but becomes rude when his students point out a mistake of his.
I don't know why Mr. Branchetti got poor reviews. I think he is a very clear and helpful teacher. I'm a senior in his AP English class. He's tough, but he's fair. He also makes learning fun and gives us very mind-provoking assignments to do. He encourages variety and student interaction. He's patient and never yells and also keeps up with his podcasting. I'm currently doing great academically in his class with a B average.
I had Mr. B three years ago. To date, best teacher I've had. He makes kids go outside their comfort zone and think beyond what the average teacher requires. Definitely the most powerful teacher.
If you have the option of taking his class run away, and fast! The main issue is the AP tests, which are graded numerically instead of on the ap scale. Prepare for a 60 when you probably got a 3 (84)
mr. branchetti was my favorite teacher throughout all of my high school years. perhaps his lectures (that you guys hate) stem from the lack of effort your class puts into each assignment/essay.
Better person than a teacher. Doesnt take criticing but gives it. Doesnt specify on how he grades papers or grades in general so he leaves you out in the middle of the sea of zero's that are to come.
agreed. hes cool when he doesnt lecture the class about being scholarly. i also think he grades papers using his amazing "blink method"
I like him as a person but as a teacher he is the worst I have ever had. Stay away from AP English 12 until he leaves
He is always belittling his students and I find it quite harmful.
mr.b is a great teacher. i currently have him and his my favorite teacher this year. i think that him and mr.cresswell are both very intelligent and mindful spirits
Mr. Branchetti is the tightest teacher..for all you who think hes not..you def. have something wrong with you...Hes not hard...maybe if you STUDIED and did the work youd be alright....
ihad him last year when iwas a senior&i think he is veryfair if udo ur work& study.he teaches valuable things ull need 2know again.there were bad days, but do reccomend him! funfun
I think Mr. Branchetti does a great job, and he really pushes you into thinking a little. That might be too hard for some of you. (Hint: Blame yourself, not others. And study!)
i loved mr. b. good teacher. all the ones who claim he is not a good teacher were to lazy to think about what he was teaching
Go to class, don't sleep and follow directions. The class is different but not really hard. Ask questions and ask for help. Challenging teacher and projects, but not impossible
Amazing teacher. Low rating because people don't like to use their brain in public education. Gets you to think outside, and pushes you. My best teacher in HS, carbone 2nd.
doesn't grade things fairly. looks at names not work. wastes time on personal life, and makes up literature analyzations on the spot. not a good teacher, transfer if you get him.
mr. branchetti constantly plays favorties in all of his classes. he is lazy and does not do his job. if he expects to make a positive impact on students lives, he needs to do work.
Very boring and never precise on his assignments and is always losing papers!!!
lost sooo many papers. i'm used to lying to save my hide, but not for my teachers
his class is kinda hard to a certain point..but just be a good student..oh! he's nice just don't talk and waste ur time haha plus he's good at playing guitar
