I have read through all of these posts, and I was fortunate to take Anatomy &Phys;, AP Bio, and be her TA in Forensics. I say this, she is demanding, and I respect that, because after all these are difficult courses designed to be so. If you want to take AP Bio think about college...in college they don't hold your hand through everything, that is why it is called AP bio. If you can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen, she is a good person and a great educator
Mrs. Tamayo is a passionate biology teacher. She knows the subject really well and inspires every student to learn. She has prepared our whole class for the final board exam, and because of her difficult tests the board felt easy. She encourages us to be hands on and self-motivated learners; if chooses not to directly "teach" something, it's because she wants us to learn it ourselves. If you are taking an AP class, than you should be capable of this.
Great teacher that knows what part of our gigantic book is important and what is not. Easy to get along with but has high expectations. I'm not worried about the Board exam....her passing rate in prev
amazing person and extremely nice; understands teenagers very well. However, her personality does not make up for her teaching flaws. AP Bio never finishes the book and she does not teach the most imp
I'm taking AP Bio with her this year (09-10) and she has singlehandedly made my decision to apply to Trinity
Uncapable of teaching... assigns lots of busy work until she gets to lazy to grade them
Take forensics. She has no idea what she's doing so you just watch CSI everyday.
If you're taking AP Bio, start ignoring her during class and take your own notes, make your own outlines, and advance faster than she is. She left the most important part of the exam out of her review - the human body!
she is easily distracted, might I say the worst A-D-D ever.
FUN TO GET HER OFF TOPIC! BUT SHE COULD IMPROVE HER TEACHING SKILLS
Mrs. Tamayo cannot teach worth beans. she would rather play and be your friend than teach you what you need to know. she does not prepare you for test or the AP exam and she expects you just to know everything. if she wasn't the only anatomy and AP bio teacher then i would never take her classes... on a lighter note, she is a very nice person.
what little she does know she really knows There is a lot she doesnt know and tries to act like she does She cant even cover all the materials of her class only teachinghalftheinfo
Hard subject...Hard teacher...But FAIR and will help alot towards college...Even invites Mr. Tamayo in to show off his fake eye for Anatomy...Now that's hands-o
