Mrs. Allen was a very hard teacher, I had her last year, but I have never learned so much in just one year. Even if her class seems too hard, give it a chance because it will help you in years beyond. I have no trouble with language arts anymore. She is definitely the best teacher I have ever had. I will never forget Mrs. Allen and I hope I have more teachers like her.
She is a very hard teacher, and the worst. She doesn't teach you anything, and I wish I never met her. She gives an unreasonable amount of homework, and gives you no time to finish. SHE EVEN PUTS QUESTIONS ON THE TEST SHE NEVER TALKED ABOUT! This makes everyone furious. I'm still shocked she still has her job, and that she even got a job in the first place.
she is the best teacher ever. tons of homework.
She takes small things and puts them into huge grades. She makes you read about 10 chapters a night.
She makes things EXTREMELY unclear and she rambles about useless things.
I think there's that one year that's an off year for Allen since she was pretty lenient on all my papers (which I procrastinated to make a paper in 3 hours) and still got A's on all of them. Homework were reading and writing papers. Tests are based on the readings (so do the readings! because sparknotes ain't gonna help). With writing papers, I think she pays most detail to structure/format and reasoning of the paper, so make sure you do a good reasoning otherwise you will see a lot of red.
Mrs. Allen is probably the toughest teacher at Sycamore High School. If you are looking for an easy A in Honors English, she is not a good choice. That being said, she is the best English Teacher I have ever had. I learned more from her than any other
What I had heard before sophomore year was her seriousness . The truth is, she acts immaturely a majority of the time. Her teaching is all over the place and needlessly severe, even a discerning student has problems understanding her expectations.
My son had her and while he did not have the best grade, he confessed she was one of his best teachers. He told me he was learning a lot from her and that's all it matters.
I had her sophomore year and I KNEW not to take her class senior year. It's a shame not to be able to take a course because of a teacher. She is in early stages of dementia- no joke. She vents often about family affairs, goes on rants about life, tries to instill harsh ideas on students,
Mrs. Allen is the best teacher at Sycamore. If you listen attentively and follow directions, you can get an A.
I had Mrs. Allen my sophomore year for honors english and it was a tough class. She is very strict but she will help you a lot on your papers. She has a really bad reputation because people think she is mean while they have her, but afterwards they will thank her because you learn a ton in that class.
She was a horrible teacher and a really mean person. I don't even understand why she wasn't fired yet.
Mrs. Allen is the type of teacher that'll appear in your nightmares, but at the end of the year, you'll be also semi glad you had her, and hopefully lived through it to tell the tale! Trust me!
While she tends to scare the living daylights out of students she will teach you a lot. Whether you want to or not she will beat the knowledge into you... The first day of school I remember thinking "
She teaches you a lot, but she does it in a way that makes most want to cry. You have to work extremely hard (she says work smarter not harder- i think working smarter is harder) to get a good grade.
When I took her class I was worried on the first day of classes, but if you pay attention to your writing style from the beginning of the year to the end you will notice a dramatic improvement. The h
mrs.allen. dear lord. where do i begin. at the begining of the year i had heard countless things about her and tried to come into her class with an open mind ready to learn and prepared for a B after
shes awesome. . . you'll learn alot! but she has these wierd days where she will randomly take out props and the wopem hammer. . . wierd, if she asks you a question. .. get it right!
Do you want knowledge that you can keep or do you want to get into a school with a good gpa? if its the latter, avoid allen at all cost.
Mrs. Allen is one of the tougher teachers I have ever had. During my freshman year I heard many rumors about her. However, she is a great teacher. Although if you tend to upset her, good luck gettting
WOW. I had Mrs. Allen then Miss. O'Donnell in 1982! Let me tell you this kids everything you learn in her class comes in handy. I didn't see the point of it back then ,but in college (at the Universit
Her class is not the easiest class... Students that have her usually dislike her during the school year for this. But afterwards, you realize that she may have been the best teacher you have ever had.
I love her she expects alot out of you and treats you like a human. SHE LETS YOU THINK and she challenges you to defend your thoughts and you can tell she really cares about her students.
I learned more from Mrs. Allen's class than all of my previous english classes combined. she is very strict and the class is challenging. you have to take her class VERY seriously.
She is 5 feet of terror. She is the scariest teacher ever. She makes me want to cry. Don't be surprised if you come out crying. On a good note.. I have remembered almost everything she has said...
I think I speak for everyone when I say that she is extremely terrifying. She has made me cry countless times. However, I learned more in her class than every other English class I've taken combined.
she scares me. honestly, i've had people say i look pissed after the bell i have her and im just like.. well i just had mrs. allen. 'nuff said. she pushes people, i can understand that. but she really picks on people who honestly don't understand what's going on. very stressful class
Mrs. Allen can be tough but she'll grow on you. She is probably the best teacher I've ever had, she pushes you to reach youre entire potential and wants you to become what you think you are not capable of. Yes, the course is rigorous and she does not allow slacking in her classroom but the immense amount of knowledge she bestowed upon her student's is incredible. It is all evident in the long scheme of things. :)
Mrs. Allen will bug you like nobody else in the beginning of the year, but you will grow to love her over the course of the year. She is probably one of the best teachers at Sycamore.
Mrs. Allen is really strict, and sometimes that's good, but she just pushes it over the limit. She says that she encourages 'individual thinking', but it feels like she's just forcing us to conform. As a friend of mine said, "She's forcing the creativity out of me." In spite of that though, it's hard for me not to like her. I'm absolutely terrified of her, but she's an interesting teacher.
Mrs. Allen really wants her students to learn how to think. her teaching style may be hard but it makes it impossible not to improve
i really dislike her. makes class impossibly hard just to prove whatever point she's trying to make. same thing every day, with no variety. very unorganized; bad with names, never knows what to teach.
shes a pain when you have her, but i feel like really helped me in hte long run
she's a really hard teacher that pushes everyone so much. sometimes we'll say something and she'll just ignore it and say the same thing 10 minutes later.
she doesn't answer questions is unfair on grading policies and does not teach what she tests on
I hated her so much when I was in her class, but I'm so grateful for her strictness now. I'm a junior in college with a 4.0, partially because she taught me how to work hard!
Mostly all the words that I learned in her classes, I do not remember anymore and I am in college. I still get good grades and on the deans list!
though she says she encourages participation, the answer given must be the one she is asking for, otherwise you are wrong...regret taking this course
Mrs. Allen is such a goofball. She's kinda hard but HILARIOUS!
mrs. allen taught me a TON. she is very passionate about what she does. don't let her coursework intimidate you - it's all worth it!
