Her class is crazy hard and she does not announce the dates of the homework so you have to find out when you have homework due and if you don't know you have homework due and u turn it in a day late it's 50% off.

She is the hardest teacher I've ever had, and her class is so boring. Her grading is extremely hard because if you don't have exactly what she wants she will mark it wrong. She encourages you to ask for help, but doesn't help when you go in, and it seems like she wants you to do bad. Also very political.

Reading a PowerPoint to your students every day & only taking a break to watch a "film" or work on a tedious project is not teaching, & certainly not going to encourage students to want to learn. The hw we do is the epitome of busy work, and if you don't answer the questions w/ the exact words she wants you will get a bad grade. I'm an A student w/ her class as my only non honors class & have to spend all of my time on it to keep my grade up. Her class has made me dred school like never before.

Mrs.Mapes is one of those women who knows her stuff. She is so smart and has a very dry sense of humor but she is wonderful, she comes off as a bit intimidating but she is so kind and will always help you if needed. Hard class but she is a GREAT teac

Mrs. Mapes is the best! Sure, her class is challenging, but I have not at any point felt that she has given me an unfair grade. She will throughly check your rough drafts and projects as many times as you want; she want you to do well. Her voice is a little monotone, but she does crack quite a few jokes during lectures. Plus, her lectures are very relevant to the subject and to the tests! Mrs. Mapes is probably my favorite teacher of all time.

Easiness depends on how much attention you give. While the lectures can be boring at those long days when you're waiting for the clock to hit 3:06, or whenever you get out, she prepares you so well for college. In fact, that's what her classes are: college preparation. She rips apart essays, at least at first, but she encourages you to ask for help--and she will help. 100 level history courses in college are EASY after taking Ms. Mapes' AP US History.

She is a great teacher. I love her. I got a four on the AP test. She hands out a sheet at the beginning of each unit that tells you what is due when. If you are unsure of your essay she will look over

She's into college preparation and you always know when assignments are due way ahead of time. If you don't pass then you have only yourself to blame.

Takes a while to get used to her teaching style, but is a really great teacher. She just wants you to be able to understand and analyze history. The effort you put in to the class is the grade you get

She's funny, but she teaches straight from the book. Can't keep her political beliefs to herself either.

worst history teacher ever. her lectures do not cover anything that is not in the book; class is basically irrelevant. all her class does is encourage cramming.

Most boring teacher in the world, and very hard, but she does a good job if you can stand lectures every day for the whole hour.
