I had Mr. King for three years in High School and he was hands-down the most wonderful English teacher. I learned so much from this man.
King is probably the best English teacher I've had. Takes a while to grade essays, but his lectures explain tons of nuances that a casual reader would rarely catch, which helps quite a bit on the AP.
I love this man. Most of the work is daily grades and vocab tests, and the tests are all straight up memorization. He doesn't prep you for the AP at all, but if you passed Barnes' exam, no problem.
He does know what he's talking about, but doesn't reutrn half of the work you actually do. The whole class is pure memorization. Big dissapointment after Barnes. Material is boring
In AP Literature, Mr. King has problems grading essays. He can teach, yet we did hardly any writing in class. He didn't prepare us well for the AP.
Mr. King's advanced vocab class is fabulous. Watch out in AP, though-he takes way too long to grade the few essays he actually gives back. ratings are vocab
