On the first day of school in her class I was shaking because she made us line up in a single file line and yelled at anyone who wasn't facing the person in front of them. Most of the first few weeks were like this, but IT GETS BETTER. She becomes less strict as the year goes on, even though the stress level wont go down. Her class is very, very hard, but as a 9th grader, everything we are doing is science I already know. Don't worry, its worth it.
Bad Teacher, do not like
In beginning of the year Ms Combis will basically scare you and pretend to be mean and all that stuff. But if you stay in her class and just simply follow directions, you will do great. Study for her tests and quizzes but don't stress that much if you get F's on some of the quizzes. I got a lot of F's on the quizzes and I was completely stressed out, but I ended up doing fine in the class, and earning an A both semesters. Once you get to know Ms Combis, she will become one of your favorites!
She is super lit
In the beginning she acts all strict and scary but after a while she makes savage jokes and lets us talk most of the time while we work. Her class is very hard but it gets easier as the year goes on and honestly she really prepares you for high school unlike most of the other 8th grade teachers. I LOVED her class!
My friends say that she's strict and eveything but they are passing her class so it's fine.
Ms. Combis is the most wonderful teacher in the Revere science program! Despite the difficulty of her quizzes and tests, it's completely possible to obtain an A grade in the class, as she offers a surplus of extra credit! Additionally, her classroom is always open for students to ask questions and better their understanding of the material. After eighth grade, I took Honors Chemistry as a freshman and it was incredibly easy because she prepared me so well!
Ms. Combis's class is no doubt a fairly difficult one and she is a strict teacher but don't let that fool you. She will prepare you very, very well for high school science (especially chem). Make sure you do the assignments and read the notes. Although her class can be stressful, it'll all be worth it and you'll find that she is genuinely a nice, fun teacher to have. Enjoy your time in her class and don't take her for granted. Looking back, Ms. Combis was very helpful and a great overall person.
Ms. Combis is awesome. I have her now in eighth grade and if I don't understand something, I'll go to her after school and she'll stay late to help me. The only annoying thing is she makes me question my knowledge because when she checks my work, she's like, "Oh are you sure? " and I'm like NO! Anyways, Ms. Combis is the best. LOVE YOU MS. COMBIS!!!
she gave me a purple pen at the end of my eighth grade year. i still have and i use it a lot. definitely a hard and challenging class, but will prepare you for late classes that are higher level.
Ms.Combis is the best physical science teacher in 8th grade, unlike other teachers she may be tough, but she makes sure we're actually learning.
Ms Combis is a very difficult teacher that teaches very well. If you are in her class, you will
learn a lot of things, but you must truly go above and beyond in her class to get an A.
MS COMBIS IS THE BEST SCIENCE TEACHER EVER!!!! I LOVE HER!! She is very smart and teaches amazingly I want her as my teacher forever!!
She is an awesome teacher and u learn a lot in her class
Ms. Combis is by far the best science teacher at Paul Revere. She may seem hard, but is so knowledgeable, and you get so much out of being in her class. I loved having her this past year, and I recommend her to anyone that wants to be pushed a little. She definitely prepares you for high school, unlike the other science teachers which go just on LAUSD standards.
Ms Combis is a great teacher who is extremely knowledgeable about the subject she teaches and is not only passionate about her subject, she's invested into making every kid who comes in her class succeed.
Ms.Combis is one of the smartest science teachers on the campus. She teaches beyond what is expected in the LAUSD school system. Though she was a tough teacher for some, I excelled as an individual learning more about myself. It was a fantastic class and recommended if your child wants to be pushed a little. I met my lover PG in this class and I knew chemistry could be applied to real life. Hope all is well xoxo, Jessica Bierschenk
OMG please don't listen to anyone else who says she's annoying or she doesn't teach because she will be (most likely) your best science teacher at Paul Revere. Take adequate notes and study for the tests, but you can mess around later on in the year. She will start out really strict and scary, but she will grow comfortable with everyone and will allow you to make jokes all the time. That class was super fun. PLUS (most) of the labs/projects were unique and super cool. LOVE YOU MS COMBIS
She is such a goooooood teacher!! Like really really good. She teaches you well and makes it a fun time. At first she starts the year strict but becomes really nice and funny. The things she taught me, i still use and remember in high school. She is a really good teacher.
she is a really good teacher!! i love her but she doesnt explain things well sometimes.
very nice smart but very strict when i say strict i mean very very very strict
Ms. Combis was the best teacher. I am now a graduating SENIOR who hated her class at first but towards the end of the school year loved it. Thanks to her class I passed 10th grade chemistry and 11th g
She starts off the year a little strict. But once she gets to know everyone, she gets a little more comfortibal. You'll have fun.
she is one of the nicest teachers there its just physics is a little hard if u dont study
She is Super confusing,Hard to understand, And you know nothing of waht is going on in the class.
Confusing to understand, says one thing but goes back on her answer so it makes her hard to trust. Her tests are tricky and she is also just plain annoying.
