I had Mr. Ish for Honors PreCalc and AP BC Calc. He may seem strict, but he actually has the sweetest heart and really cares about his students. His teaching is great and his tests, though challenging are extremely fair and greatly prepare you for college level courses. His students never get below a 3 on the AP tests and if you work hard, you will definitely get a 5. The strong calculus base he provided me led me to get an A+ in Multivariable Calc at UMD. He writes beautiful recommendations too

Mr. Ish, as we have come to call him, is by far the most helpful math teacher I have ever had. Not only is he a great teacher, but also a great person who makes an effort to create a relationship with all of his students.

A great teacher that truly deserves recognition and praise for his inspiration and determination to help people. He comes to school at 4am and sometimes earlier for making lessons for the students. He also understands students very well and always sides with them. I am still in his class (IB Precalc) in the year 2011-2012. Mr. Ish, if I can find you in the future, I want you to know... I will always honor you and I will do something special for you or in your name in the future.

He is the best teacher I have ever had. I have never gotten a C in my life & was about to get one because of absent homework grades. Even with those grades i had a 79.4 & he bumped my grade up by .10 of a point to a very close B. he always sides with the student & his notes are outstanding. He teaches you life lessons & enjoys spending time with his students. I will always remember him, he is the very best. I love him!
