Mr. Clausen is awesome, but his lectures are pretty long and unnecessary. He really knows his coding though and definitely knows what he is doing. His powerpoints are really hard to understand at times but he has all answers to test questions in there (obviously not directly). Overall, I would advise to anybody taking his plans to prepare themselves for hundreds of puns, always prepare for tests (cause you won't know anything on tests if you don't study), and do homework.
Clawdawg is the dude. If you really wanna pursue conputer programming, his teaching isn't really helpful. His band is pretty good tho.
I'm in Mr. Clausen's C++ class. It might work for some, but Mr. Clausen's lecture style is ineffective for me. He lectures from the back of the room with a microphone, and uses really outdated software for his slideshows. For the majority of the year, he would assign programs that he pretty much accompanied with the correct code, so all we had to do was copy and paste from PowerPoint slides. Then all of a sudden he started assigning programs with minimal instruction, so no one knew what to do
Mr. Clausen overall is an OK teacher. His class is run well, and he knows what he's teaching. His tests are easy, and the classwork and programs are easy. Homework is tedious busywork. In class, he is boring and doesn't want students messing around, but isn't at all inspirational and doesn't show enthusiasm. His lectures are terribly boring and monotonous, and you don't have to really listen. He seems to have little outside knowledge of programming though and makes bad pus and jokes.
He's cool I guess...his puns hurt though. And he doesn't really teach, but his class is totally easy.
lectures put you straight to sleep, but really respects students as individuals, and cares about helping you learn more than any other lchs teacher, in my opinion. As fanteggstic as they get
Best math teacher I've had at LCHS. The only problem I have with him is that his voice makes want to go to sleep for some reason
His jokes aren't funny, he talks with a monotone, he's a generally boring guy..but he's honestly the best math teacher I've ever had. His lecture videos are insanely helpful, and if you stay on top of the homework and honestly make sure you understand it, his class is insanely easy. His practice tests are the only studying I ever need to do for tests, and the tests are incredibly easy. He never puts problems on there that he didn't teach us or that are particularly advanced/tricky.
He puts a lot of the information online, making life a little easier. He has lame jokes, but they're lame in great way. Clausen loves it when student break the rules. He has a superiority complex. He enjoys deliverying punishment. If you're late, get a phone call in class, get caught talking to your seat partner, his face lights up like Christmas.
easy as cake. typical joke:"your ipod will become mypod, bring your ihome i'll take it to my home, i'll rune your zune, i'll get creative with your zen and if i take your iriver you can cry me a river." not the best class, but easy tests, and best part: EVRYTHING is ONLINE! worst part: he talks in monotone and if he thinks of a nickname for you, he'll remember it forever.
He tells a lot of corny jokes. He always has a TA who types his powerpoint lectures...He's easy though.
Mr. Clausen is a total sweetheart! he may drown you with boring lectures and crack lame jokes but his class is pretty easy. talk to him about fairytales, he might be nice enough to print one out for u!
Boring, but his online work is very useful for when you are at home. It allows you to go over lectures as many times as you want. But he's never there.
i didnt like him too much, he was boring and unhelpful and he gives detentions for fun
Watch his online lectures the night before. do the homework while he lectures in class. watch out for horrid jokes.
most boring teacher ive ever had, lectures half of the time, the other half of the time hes not here
hes boring but hes the coolest teacher he has aim and an ipod and all of that stuff.
Definitely not the most exciting person, but from a teaching standpoint, he does an excellent job. He helps you with things and does a pretty good job teaching you the material. Plus, corny jokes
Pretty boring class. He's pretty helpful whenever you have a problem, but most of the time he just talks and talks and talks and cracks corny jokes, which surprisingly I enjoy
Absent half the time. Corny jokes. Best class to sleep in.
Something is just lacking with this teacher. It doesnt seem like he cares about teaching us too much, theres no enthusiasm in the classroom, and that clearly affects the students.
he doesn't teach much at all in computer science. he is only here like 3/4th of the days in the year. not a very good teacher overall. jokes can be slightly fun
Mr clausen is an easy teacher. you can sleep in his class and get an A, except for the fact he didn't round my B+!!!
Cool guy, not clear funny jokes good all around teacher just can be vague and isnt very helpfull when you ask him a question
you never have to pay attention in class...all you have to do is go online and read his notes. (and if you sit in the front row he can't see you)
He is never at school to teach. It's hard to judge him. We have had a sub (I have forgotton how many days). Other than that, he is ok, I guess!
mr clausen your the best! so your soo much better than the other alg 2 teacher..whom you saved me from last year..your one of the best teachers i have ever had
Clawitzle is the man, he puts everything on the internet but he doesn't explain Comp Sci very well
Clausen's jokes help keep alive what would otherwise be a boring class, and besides he plays the guitar so he is automatically an awesome teacher.
JOKES are horrible and corny, but he wont stop with them, after a while all you do is fall asleep in class.. easy class though
For math: his notes on the internet are really helpful. you don't have to pay attention in class and you can still read his lectures and get an A.
He's alright, Jokes lame, wish he would stop with the jokes altogether, even though he likes humoring himself with them.
Remember how he wouldn't come to your seat to help you? You had to save the program, walk all the way over to his desk, and talk to him.
