I had Mr. Albano about 11 years ago. All these years later, I still remember him so fondly. What a caring teacher! I enjoyed the reading materials and assignments which were all appropriate for the level. Sometimes I wish I could go back in time and take his class again!
The thing with Mr. Albano is he speaks so quietly you can barely hear him or understand what he is saying. It's hard to stay awake in his class. The books he chooses are terrible. He's very liberal and politics play a big role in his classroom. I don't recommend his class and if you are taking AP Lit, well then good luck staying awake.
He picks the right materials that challenge us in both academic and meaningful manners. It's great to have a wide perspective of views presented.
Great at teaching tough material and getting through
I am pleased that I can rate Mr. Albano honestly and objectively now that I have graduated from Fox Lane . He is by far the worst educator I have experienced in my high school. He is incoherent and unable to engage students individually. He appeared uncomfortable while speaking to the class most of the time. He also has a bad habit of speaking with a low tone that is indecipherable. Students will find it difficult to be energized in his class, avoid it at all costs!
I absolutely love Mr. Albano! He's always willing to stay after with you and help you understand material. For his more advanced classes, he throws in homework grades, so basically if you bother to do the homework you get full credit, which really helps boost grades. He's very dedicated and you can tell he loves what he teaches. The kids who don't like him are lazy students who don't feel like putting any work into class. It's the first high school English class I've been in where I've improved.
