Mr Bruton was a creative teacher who did his own thing - he allowed a lot of freedom but still got a lot from his students.
I was his student in 1997, fresh off the boat from Brazil. He was not only supportive but also inspiring. I wish I had kept my notes, his class was what made me want to go to school in the US. After college, I came back to Brazil and I brought with me his guide to Jewish literature.
i have him this year and he is very laid back since his heartattack...so class is a snap. i have over a hundred in here and its honors, beautiful.
Amazing man. I would have gotten so much more out of the class if people didn't misbehave. If you ever get Mr.Bruton, listen to what he has to say!
would have been a great class if people actually participated. His lectures were engaging...just no one gave him any respect.
